Description
Trying out some synth effects and mutilating the RnB drum loop. Let me know what you think. Could go a lot of different directions with this. Pic is this year's robot. Kids worked long hours on this one.

Yeah, the older synth guys still use banks and banks of keyboards, even though most of what they do could be done through one or two with a computer controller.

Different
sound from you Bill I must say, but you certainly captured the image (in more ways than one, i.e. the photo) in the synth sounds you used......and that's some robot you all made; love to see it in action, cheers M

When the competition season is over I will try to post a video of the robot on the field. It will look quite a bit different though, not every idea we had worked the way we thought. Thanks for listening.

intro song
doesn't each robot get their own intro song? I'd say this one would be an apt introduction. Add some flashing lights and some 18" bass speakers to that puppy and cut her loose.

Just like at the basketball games. I will have to run your idea past the organizers. They tout this as the only high school sport where everyone can go pro!

Love
Love the robot, and this is a great soundtrack for the machine. Some really nice sounds here - a little ominous in parts, and then a hint of whimsy in the sounds, too. Very cool. Nicely done. Peace.

Glad you liked the ending. The 70s synths had accesses to sequencers to do that, but I'm not sure how they did it, so I did it a modern way.

Its ok
I like the overall structure of what you are doing more than the actual choice of sounds. It is a little to synthy for my taste. With different instruments I think it would work out better.

I do like it though.

I could reuse the baseline with other instruments, and the rising finish...I'll noodle around with it at home and see what I come up with. Good to hear from you.

Intensity
Maybe the older synth guys need their banks of keyboards to lean against during gigs.

It's nice to hear your musical dark side, Bill. Very intense sounds and some lively melodic flourishes.

Yeah, some of those guys need something to prop them up ;)

As for the darker side, like the old keyboardists I too was once and angry youth.

Really liked
this - the very high synths against the deep bass sounds made a great contrast. Loved the groove.
Cheers

Thanks, There is only one synth used: Prophet-53. Two voices are employed: Sharp Bass Comp for the bass groove, and Super Sync Lead. Most of the sounds are from the Super Sync Lead which has an amazing amount of keyboard sensitivity worked in, allowing for some interesting sonic expression.

Lots of fun. I've been experimenting with locking tracks so the software instruments don't skip like they used to. A couple people suggested it, but in my usual slow way it took me a while before trying the technique out.

Great banks of sizzling wires
nice sounds - and cool pic. I've been enjoying my old Pro One lately. Nothing sounds the same as an old analog synth. What were you working with here?
