The Battle of Shiloh, was a major battle in the Western Theater of the American Civil War, fought on April 6 and April 7, 1862, in southwestern Tennessee. Confederate forces under Generals Albert Sidney Johnston and P.G.T. Beauregard launched a surprise attack against the Union Army of Maj. Gen. Ulysses S. Grant. The Confederates achieved some initial success on the first day but were ultimately defeated on the second day.

a song with some history behind it. The horns sound so desperate against the tense violins an excellent composition. I can see the men creeping up on Ulysses. The build up towards the end is subtle enough to turn the tide in the battle. Excellent
