Darwins Dream (The Beagle Mix)

Description
This is a modern take on the voyage of the Beagle, from the point of view of a dream had by Mr Darwin.

The mix is stock R56-stuff so nothing vastly different from others that I've put together, although all of the content is new.

It's more a soundscape than an ambient tune although it is that as well but less so.

Make of it what you will and let me know your thoughts.

Hi Linda.......
An introduction to something....Yes that will do. It's one of my rare pieces that sets something else up.

The organic feel and the strange noises gave me the clue for a Darwin theme. I realise that he never went into space but he must have thought that across the vast ocean was wierd enough.

Take care.

Haunting...
But as Linda says, very organic. I like this piece - it breathes!

Hi Daniel......
It's a little different for me but I couldn't resist following the idea I had to one of its conclusions.

Take care.

Sounds
like Darwin was dreaming of a species from another planet say maybe MARS?
Hey maybe he told H.G. Wells about it.
Very cool work my friend.
Best,
Charlie

Hi Charlie.....
It's a bit far fetched I'll grant you but it seemed to name itself once I listened to the mix. There will be a space faring Darwin one day. This can be their theme.

Take care.

journey to the center of the earth
organic is right...very cool soundscape. this is quite a journey with the beagle and mr. darwin. there is SO much going on here - i'm going to have to listen several more times to let it all sink in. my only nit is that it seemed to end very abruptly instead of easing me out of this organized chaos of a journey. very cool stuff!

Hi Shay........
I had another listen/look at the mix and I did fade it to nothing so I'll look more closely at what is ending and where and see if I can modify the ending in some way.

I'm glad that you enjoyed my soundscape.

Take care.

I enjoy creating music using computers and 'synthesized' as opposed to 'real' instruments. I have no problem using samples/loops in my music. Everyone does this every time they work with a track. I don't fit in any box and thoroughly enjoy working ou... [see more]
