Lyrics
Be a Guiding Star

For those in need, be the best that you can
Talk to the lonely, be a friend and take their hand
If you feel that something's missing, you dream for much more
Try to show a love for others

Always be true to yourself
That's who you are
Remember you're the light in someone's eyes
You can be a guiding star

When people try to put you down, you can't help but believe it
And if your pathway in life stops early, if you go and try to leave it
The good and the bad we do in our lives
Are tracks of our time
That we leave behind
Remember you're the light in someone's eyes
You can be a guiding star

Shine a light and keep the faith even when you're dark inside
Let those around you share their thoughts, and never show them you mind
Just be true to yourself because that's who you are
Remember you're the light in someone's eyes
You can be a guiding star

Nice collab.
Vocals grab your attention after a great intro. Overdriven guitar is choice. Well written and recorded. The high vocals and the ending fade, wow! Nice job.
Be well,Russ

Who needs a studio?
It's a great tune and that's what is important. Good tune.

sings on wings
the voice and mandolin captivate the heart. the lyrics captivate the mind. it is a song of strength. it brings a smile. the buzz of electric guitar seemed out of place for this gentle song. however, the singing and playing mesmerized away the buzz. 0x0

The light in someone's eyes.
Matching lyrics to music is very challenging, not that I'm a lyricist. You've done an excellent job here. And such beautiful, meaningful lyrics, set against a gorgeous harmonic backdrop. Well done.

Lovely
The mandolins sound great here, and the vocal is lovely. Very nice performance. I think the electric guitar idea is good, here, but I would have gone for a less distorted sound. Nice lyrics, and nice melodies. Very cool. Nicely done. Peace.

This song has a great feel to it
Good twang on the guitars... helped by the mandolin of course... sounds like roland chorus on the 12. Lovely singing Holly!

Sweet vibe

excellent vocals. Loved the laid back strum on the mandolin .. and the way you multi-tracked the sound of them together with the guitar. I'm always scared it turns out like the Ally McBeal theme tune .. but this had me more thinking of the sound of the "Battle of evermore" on Led Zep IV. Cool.

Real fine song layout. Fine voice. Excellent lyrics. Instrumentation is thin and not entirely in tune, but you already warned of that. You need to get your voice in the same soundspace as the instruments. But the song comes out fine, despite the technical shortfalls. Thanks for sharing. Could use a touch of choral voices to invite sing-a-long.
