Description
Once upon a time at MacJams, Bill Pease (peacepiano) posted an amazing improv he called 'Old Jam' http://macjams.com/song/30269. I found it, absolutely loved it and immediately sent him a message asking if I could lay down some vocals over it. He kindly said yes and sent me the tracks. This is the result. I added a bunch of vocal tracks as well as some additional percussion and guitar. One of the things I loved about Bill's original (besides his awesome playing) was the dynamics of the song, so I really tried to pump those up a little more. Excellent song, Bill. Thanks for letting me put my stink on it :)

peacepiano - music, keys, percussion, bass
rsorensen - lyrics/vocals, additional percussion, guitars

Lyrics
IT TOOK A WHILE FOR ME TO KNOW I DON'T BELONG HERE
IT TOOK A WHILE FOR ME TO FIGURE OUT THIS MESS
SOMEONE TOLD ME THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE IF YOU CAN FIND IT
BUT I AINT NEVER FOUND IT YET

I DONT WANNA BE THE ONE TO SAY I'M SORRY
BUT I DON'T WANNA BE THE ONE TO CAST THIS STONE
I'VE BEEN HERE BEFORE
AND I KNOW WHAT'S IN STORE
BUT I DONT WANNA BE THE ONE TO PUT YOU OUT

WHAT WOULD YOU DO? (I WOULD BE PRAYING)

Different flavor
A little falsetta, and some interesting things going on in the vocal department. Wow, you did a great job pulling both of your interests into this one. A fine track. Thanks to you both.
Be well, Russ

Excellent Collab Ridd
you and Bill need to work together more, based on this effort. Bill's back tracks are outstanding, and I really like the vocal you put over it, not to mention the other changes you added.

Great job guys, turned out darn near perfect. Kudos to you both.

Dynamic
Cool! Your vocals are just the thing to bring out the dynamics. Lots of surprises for me from the guitars and percussion, and it all sounds great. I never really imagined lyrics for this, but you make it sound like they were written first. Thanks for stretching this to its full potential.

Super collab
Bill's work reminds me of Air's Virgin Suicides album. Ridds additions are really tasteful. Wonderful collab!

wowza - what a dream team this is! I loved the original post from bill, and ridd's additions are terrific! nothing like a great piano player jammin' with a great lyricist/vocalist/guitarist (and with all the other instruments i'm not mentioning, played by each of you). Terrific work guys! more please.......

What a great rolling groove this has -
excellent collab guys - really good stuff. Ridd your vocals are so perfectly nuanced - you've been paying close attention to Mr. Yorke. Bill's piano sounds great and your guitar additions fit like a glove. Top shelf. Oh - and the lyrics are inspired.

There is no reason in this world this couldn't be used in a film or a track on a CD.

Wonderful track from Bill to start with, but what an inspiration you had to sing over it. Brilliant. You have created a very original song and sound.
