Description
Here's another acoustic thing. This time I added a little extra instrumentation, but still held back. Let me know if I should add bass? Drums? Take away or leave the bridge? Leave the whole thing as is?
Oh yeah - that's a clothes dryer cycle you hear at the beginning. I've found that sound very peaceful and soothing since I was a kid and thought it would sound neat and appropriate in this song.

Lyrics
Well I never felt that way about it
I've never felt that way before
You have confused me for someone else
Because I don't recall what you are talking about

I'm sorry I cannot help you, man
I'm sure you can find someone who can

Remember when you told me
There'd be another time for this?
Weren't you the one who told me there'd be another day? (someday)
I believed you when you said it
But now I ain't so sure anymore
Because since you have been missing
My faith in you has gone (far away)

And now indifference sets in
I cant hear what you're saying
I cant remember feeling like that

And when my conscience kicks in
It kicks a hole in everything we had
It turns all the good memories bad

I'm sorry I cannot help you, man
I'm sure you can find someone who can

This sounds great - love the way your vocal sounds. Personally, I'd leave it as it is (although the dryer at the start may only be of interest/peaceful and soothing to you).

Lovely production, and an all round cool post.

omg
clothes dryer - i TOTALLY know what you mean about that as a soothing sound. I'm not sure i would've recognized it as that without your description, but i was primed to hear it, so i did easily. i'm really liking your adventures in acoustic sound. personally, i like that you've held back here - i wouldn't add a thing!

this
could go a lot of different ways. I don't know about bringing in a full band or drums, but some toms and light percussion would be cool. Maybe an acoustic solo as well? Nice sketch Ridd.

Nah!
Leave it as-is, since adding bass or drums would seem a bit too mainstream. And I like the clothes dryer. I think the reverb on the vocal could be backed off a bit, but other than that I wouldn't change anything. Oh maybe change that shaker to use a more idiosyncratic type of sound. Cheese grater? Something out of the laundry room? How about zipper? I'm going to download this as it is right now because I could appreciate it perfectly well just the way it is.Pure awesomeness.

this is awesome. love the guitar parts (that picking is nice). like the dryer. i do agree with jim about the tambourine sound, maybe something different: something a little rattier sounding. seed pods? i can hear something that has a wooden sound to it. like the sax part too. this is a really beautiful song. always impressed.

Slow down....
Prolific, is an understatement describing you. Love the dreamy vocals Ridd. The second acoustic sounds awesome.

LEAVE THIS AS IS. It's like a 13th track on an album.

Sweet, sweet tune

send help
Stands on its own perfectly well but you never know what a bit of bass and a bit more percussion might add. I'd like to find out though!
Guitar and vocals sound great - I like the dreamy vocal effects.
cheers

I wonder
If it wouldn't be nice to have a bass come in somewhere later in the song to give it a push. Very nice tune. Great sounding mix. That acoustic sounds phenominal. Stands alone adequetly but, might be even better with a little push.

I've heard the soothing rain,
I've heard singing of birds, and I've heard the babbling brooks inserted into songs. But this clothes dryer enraptured me with peace as it led me along with your song. We should never underestimate these simple joys of life. Loved every note! Gives you a warm feeling like that which you get when you don that shirt you just pulled from the dryer on a chilly winter morning. Peace! Terry

don't need any help
man i love clothes dryers. i've always thought it would be cool to take a ride in one (low temp of course lol). anyway keep it as is. backups, playing, vocals, everything as good as it gets. put out an album of this stuff and i'll be the first to buy it. (this sounds so good LOUD in the phones - well worth hearing loss)

I agree with Neil...
...leave this one as is.

On the other hand, sometimes it's cool to do two different versions of a tune. A tricked out rock version of this would also work.

But please don't delete this one!

Be well friend!

This is really good!
My opinion for what its worth. I agree with most of the comments here. As a drummer I believe many songs can benefit from some added percussion. I think this song is great the way it is, but If you are interested i could certainly try to see if i could add some more to it. Just a thought for what its worth. Great song!
