Description
i remixed the song, mainly adding volume to the whole thing, upping drum volume, and Re-recording the lead vocals. i did not like the shaky start.... tell me if you like this one better than the first....
even tho i deleted the first...heh...

nice remix
Sounds better with the drums up and nice mix of vocals in the chorus. Awesome playing just like last time. The volume on the solo seems a little hot on this version. Your voice sounds good - natural and relaxed - effortless. Cool track man.

go ahead....
pick those nits!!
kidding... thanks for taking another listen. funny, tho, i did not touch the solo volume. the ending solo was an adlib using a new tone i tweaked for live solo stuff ( assuming i ever go play live again...). it is a little crazy, and might have been a touch hot on the lower end. the line 6 pod x3 is the most versitile piece of hardware i have ever used. i know lot of folks use computer based amp sims, and that is all cool, but i do plan on doing some live work again, and the x3 will be the perfect addition to my setup. i can run it from any amp, as well as straight into the board. i have complete control via the gearbox program on the computer, and i am sure i could spend years on this thing and not touch all the functionality. i wonder what Jimi would have done with one of these things?
again, thanks for the comments and listens

Mr. Nice Guy
This is one of the better hard rock tunes I have heard at MJ. You have the formula for cool rock song down - good gritty vocals, cool guitar riffs and a driving beat. Your music reminds me of bands like Lynch Mob and Dokken. Nice solos as well. I heard a couple of spots where the bass and guitar played together which I think you could tighten up a bit, but aside from that you have a real hit here. Thank you for sharing this!

loved lynch mob
i think they were a little too late, tho. grunge and the seattle style hit so closely to thier inception, i think it killed thier momentum. i saw lynch with dokken in 96, on the reunion tour and it was said he quit the band the next show... funny. he sounded great, though, and has been an influence on my playing to a degree. the whole VH, RR, L.A. metal of the early 80's played a big part on my musicianship. that and Hendrix, and Iommi, being lefty's like myself, were two of my heroes.
i try to bring my own sense of playing to every song. for many years i focused on my singing, and not the guitar, and it has only been in the past 4-5 years that i have made a serious effort in my playing.
as to the tighness, i guess if i were going to consider this one for a CD, i would tighten it up, but for the most part, many of my songs are simply recorded to clear space in my head... i almost deleted this one for hard drive space. something told me to keep it, and i ended up finishing it. to me, it sounds really 80's, and not viable commercially. but the fun factor is way up there, and i love old school rock and metal. so i will keep writing it till it comes back around!

Dude
Great driving rhythm section. The bridge is worked in seemlessly. Great vocals, you definitely got the range to cover this type of music. Impressive. Thanks for sharing. Loved the lead break at the end.

Ahh..Yes.
The rhythm guitars sound MUCH better. Nice and fat! The bass fits nice with the bass drum. The overall sound of the mix sounds more pro than the last, more radio ready. It seems like the solo and the vox are a "tad" hot, but nothing a little volume raise in the rhythm guitar section couldn't fix. Actually I would try pulling up them first, before trying anything else volume wise. Just my opinion, otherwise, stellar as always.

I played
this for one of my really good students who is big into 80's metal- he could not believe that someone could sing AND play this well. This makes me wish I had never sold my Marshall. You have enough talent for at least three people.

thank you all three.
alot of people on this site have what i consider to be more guitar talent than i do. i had been a singer for so long, i forgot alot of the guitar. recently, i have been making an effort to really play and expand my instrumental writing. to have high praise form all of you on this site warms my heart.
i got the 80's metal tag on this song from the wife as well. on the one hand, it is a cool thing, cause them's my roots, but on the other, i wish it were more of a good timeless rock sound. i shall work harder.
i am looking to strike a balalnce between my past and my now. hopefully, you will all join me for the ride.

Boom!
I like your mix, except for the balance between the bass and, well, everything else. Listen at low volume and I think you'll hear what I mean. The bass just seems too prominent to me (though it seems to disappear a bit at the solo and the reappear at the following chorus). You might try a version with the bass track leveled down or maybe with just a low-shelving filter to dampen a bit below the 200Hz mark.

thank you for the comment.
the loud prominent bass was kind of what i wanted for this song. i wanted it to sound dirty, and live, i notice in many live recordings, the bass has a ton of punch, and this was what i was going for.

Oh, yeah, it's "Nice" ... and nasty.
Gee... guitars that thrash; a beat that won't quit; a chord pattern that carries the action along; super-killer, on-pitch vox with fine range (meds or no meds) and, well... gee--this is... "nice" fer sure. And as you so clearly let us know, you be plenty nasty, petty, vengeful and lacking all self control. What's not to like? Well done, brother heathen. Way to burn it down.
