Description
3rd time be the charm... Sorry bout that. My apologies! Don't really have a good enough excuse. A water shortage is a big deal. The vocalist, Imogen Heap would like for us all to know more about such a threat and has put up instead of shutting up. Maybe some day these beginnings will be gooder for all of us. Go to the site below for details to see how you might be able to make a difference in helping to raise awareness of such an ordeal. Also, you can make a difference or, different rendition of this song by downloading the file of Imogen's stunning vocal performance that you're hearing on this tune. The files are at the same site as all of the other info which again, you'll find at the site that I've pasted below.

How to make a difference: www.twestival.fm/?p=195

Thanks!

Hope ya enjoy it! Dion

lush arrangement
superb orchestral arrangement Dion. mighty fine work and your mixing is always pro in itself.

I tried to listen to the second posting several days back but it was disabled. So, I'll go with the third times the charm.

Man, my typing is so bad today I can't believe how many corrections I have made.

You have a knack...
...for making dissonance sound normal and expected... I told you it reminded me of some the Jennifer Warnes stuff from 'Famous Blue Raincoat', but now it also reminds me of some of the art songs that Judy Collins liked to do on 'Wildflowers' and other LPs of that era....

As far as i know, you're still using GB, but your drums and your cymbals always end up sounding so natural and real...

Thanks for reposting.... I feel better now...

Ed

The thing I did up there is called 'faving'.... It means I like it...

Enhanced
Bobbing and weaving around that wonderful voice, your working your Dionizing macca-magic.

Man, you are a someone with time to spare on his hands or your doing this as your fulltime job. For this is no quick paste together. Either that, or you go to your day job as a zombie, from putting in those endless nights perfecting your arrangements.

She reminds me a bit of Paula Cole.

Anyhow, you amaze me again Dion, your awesome.

Fantastic off-beats. I love that one sound, it's almost Benny Goodman. OK, now, the vocals, whatever was going on, totally worth it, fantastic vox!

You gave her
vocal a lot of room, which retained intimacy. But you worked your ass off behind the scenes. Some kind of genius, you are! Thank you.

Great mix
You work the orchestra instruments well. I really wish I had the same knack for that kind of thing. I like the space you placed in the song giving the vocals full attention. Good work.

3rd time lucky ;)
You sure nailed it here Dion. I've become quite a fan of Imogen Heap, and had a good think about doing a version of this. Ed mentioned dissonance, and I figured that's just one of the things you are really good at. You pick neat sounds and use them in sometimes unexpected ways. No regular chord changes for you :)

A very cool interpretation.

Changes the whole feel
The vocals are outstanding. Your instrumentation changes the whole aspect of the song progressively. Very interested to hear this from another perspective. Enjoyed.

Remarkable
This is really quite something. Unexpected and challenging, and unquestionably successful. You really approach the vocal track from an angle that is uniquely yours, and boy do you pull it off. Each listening opens it up more to my ears. Rich and sweeping at times, darkly dissonant in spots (lending lovely extra nuance to the words!), and always inventive. I bow down to you. Kudos, man. Peace.

Tricky one this.
It is not an easy first time listen favourite type of tune, but that usually means that the longevity of its enjoyment comes about after repeat listenings....oh I know what I mean,it's not a bad thing, it just requires time to grow on me.Thats because it is dissonant and has multiple time sigs and is full of nuances ...no not nuisances..nuances..and it is a very mature piece of work.D'loaded for future listenin'
