Description
A rather trippy piece which somehow appeared out of the remix of my earlier post. As usual, arranged from loops only a couple of years ago and remixed recently.

Quality loop selections
If this is strictly loops, then you've done a great job choosing and arranging them. The positives are many... love the vibes, swelling pads and tripped out feel. The thing that bothers me is the hard panning of the percussion and instrumentation. Listening to "For a fallen hero" over loud speakers would be way better than the way I listen... in headphones. Nice work.

Welcome Barry
and thanks for the comments. Yes, it is strictly loops, as are all "my" tunes. If I remember correctly, the only panning is by the elec. piano which slowly pans one way and then back: I didn't think it was bothersome but I'll go check the master again.
Cheers

Very nicely done Richard
It has an ethereal feeling, almost like a dream sequence or something of that nature. I like where you went here with the sudo military drums and the sweeping synths. A very cool track my friend.

That ethereal, dreamy quality
is pretty much what I meant by "trippy", but to-MAY-toes or to-MAH-toes, the sound (or taste) is what's important. Thanks Ed (and I still think your latest is fine as it is).
Cheers

I really enjoyed this. A very ambient soundscape with interesting and captivating beats. I have to agree that the hard panning was a little distracting, but otherwise this is an excellent production. A creative and engaging layering of tones and textures. well done!

How lovely to see you here Shay
and to read your generous comments. I'm sorry you too found the panning distracting but happy that you enjoyed it otherwise.

I agree with...
Shay's comment about the layering of tones and textures. It is VERY tasteful, indeed, and very satisfying to listen to. You DO have a good sense of what works with the various loops you are using: what works well, what doesn't. As I've mentioned on earlier posts, the idea of a tune is something that you might consider to have float above all of these nice mellow sound you are creating. You kind of have a "bed" going on here...It's the foundation... (I love your fade out: Nicely done, very gentle and even.)
Peace.

This time, Paul,
I disagree with your suggestion that this piece needs a "tune" floating above the mellow "bed". To me, it is quite complete and satisfying in every way, as is. Obviously you like the piece too, but find it ultimately unsatisfying without the elusive "tune"; is that it?
I thank you for all the compliments and for your continued interest, even without my taking that next step.
Cheers

Recognize
some of the loops, since I'm a avid GB loop user myself. I want to get to the point where the loops are unrecognizable or use less common loops.

Have you check out Lwinston, He only uses loops too, but you can't recognize them now. I'm learning to play the keys to move away from useing the loops so much but I feel if you like what the end result is, it doesn't matter how you did it, you did it. Check my song Electric VIrus, another loop creation and tell me what you think. Lots of time and energy goes into what you do I can tell.

Time and energy: not enough of either
Welcome, Sir B. I have tried various ways to disguise, or at least modify, the loops I use, though I've never sliced and diced like some people can. And I agree that the end result is what's important. I haven't encountered Lwinston yet but I'll check him out, and I listened to one or two of yours (I d/l'd Electric Virus to listen to properly, but I haven't had that chance yet). Thanks for the visit; I'll get back to your page soon.
Cheers

After many more listens...
Okay.. I've been listening to this track over my loudspeakers at low to moderate volumes - quite a few more times over the past week or so. The lower the overall volume, the less distracting the panning is. I really enjoy this piece of music. Thanks for sharing it.

I'm really happy you enjoy this piece of music
enough to have given it repeated listens. If you lower the volume enough you won't hear the panning at all ;-)
Seriously, I'm glad you like it. I have an extended version which I've decided to post, as soon as I remove the panning.
Cheers

Great mood
And for something made entirely with loops, real good. On a technical note, I also feel the panning is too hard, leaving the middle space too empty. Which is also a question of taste. Which can't be argued.

Thanks for sharing this.

Mood music
I have since posted a longer, improved version of this tune which you might enjoy more. Thanks for the compliment, which I won't argue.
