Description
One of those days when you want to make music but you just can't seem to come up with
anything substantial. I am in a weird place right now in my life. Emotions are
running high and I have little patience with anyone. Please listen, and you may hear
the turmoil in the midst. This is a "let it all go" song for me. I just felt like
sharing the release :) Thanks for listening and putting up with me.

not much to say
You are always good at portraying emotions in music... and although I feel some restraint here (as opposed to you building up to a primal-scream "bang-the-keyboard" crescendo), I sense a ship of helplessness adrift on a huge sea of despair and anguish. That's bad water to be in... I was there once or twice. You have friends on the horizon waving at you, you know. It is a long journey ahead, but you will get there.

And as a side note... when this piece first started, the piano intro reminded me of a heart-piercing song that Joan Baez sings to one of my all-time favorite sappy/romantic/hippy sci-fi movies, Silent Running... here's the scene and the music I was reminded of from your beautiful piece:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NkF05D-NJMU

And I just did some dragon-magic to allow Mark be first :)

ttfn,
Drakonis

It is as if time itself
is against you. In the end, it is a friend because nothing lasts forever: not the good, but certainly not the bad either. It is very emotional with some frustration and aggravation. But lovely, still. Thanks.

OMG Gail - this is GORGEOUS! It is exquisite on every level I can think of, the beautifully played piano, the perfect orchestration, the sense of change/movement/and of course, letting go....as the music goes on. Gail really, this is SO impressive, and a moving share from the heart. Thank you for this!

Great to hear from you Gail!
I don't know what it is you are going through, but I'm sure you gotta to be on the right track when you can make such nice music as this. Some action, yes. Turmoil? Nah... If broken, on the verge of healing.

Downloaded for further analyses, anyway, so thanks!

Gail
I can def. relate. I wrote a song about some friends who died in a car crash in Louisiana. Just the process of developing the song for their son helped me to process the sadness. I hope you have found similar healing in your own music. Very nice musically I must add.

Wow....now that would be painful indeed. My problems are nothing in comparison to that. Life in general, nothing too big to handle, just frustrating sometimes. Sadness though as you said, is a process sometimes and I appreciate the listen and comments. I truly believe there is healing in music. That is another reason I am here.

Ponderous
and wandering seemingly aimlessly forward of the piano and kind of subdued as well, but with the constant painful stabs of the violins like shards of glass. Nevertheless it's a really nice piece of music Gail, which I think is how you're feeling at this time. Been waiting a while though for one of your posts and I;m not disappointed......... hope you feel soothed sometime soon, regards M

Yep.
A bunch of pain comes through, Gail...screaming through. Those high strings cry in the midst of everything. You've done a beautiful job capturing just exactly what you set out to portray...And "putting up" with you is not ever a problem. It is wonderful that you wish to share your "journal" with us. It is always marvelous when you post a new song. Sadness though this one contains, it is, nevertheless, so beautifully written and thoughtfully rendered.
Peace.

From the first
second I heard this I knew it was going to be something special.

Terrific use of the strings they way they have a music vibration. Enjoy the use of the synth, spacy type chior and the list goes on and on. Lots of great use of sound here.

Thanks for sharing !

Very delicate
The opening is delicate, yet the descending bass line lets us know the depths of feelings you are experiencing. The classic combination of piano and strings with the addition of the almost human cry of the synth is very evocative. I'm glad you were inspired, and put it all down for us to share in this piece of bittersweet music.

delicious
wonderful mood!

if i could make one change, it would be to lower the synth's volume in the left ear, as it overshadows that too good piano just slightly.

a bit dark, a touch of tension, and a reaching for the light.
i hear questions wanting answers...

nicely done, gail
