not much to say
You are always good at portraying emotions in music... and although I feel some restraint here (as opposed to you building up to a primal-scream "bang-the-keyboard" crescendo), I sense a ship of helplessness adrift on a huge sea of despair and anguish. That's bad water to be in... I was there once or twice. You have friends on the horizon waving at you, you know. It is a long journey ahead, but you will get there.

And as a side note... when this piece first started, the piano intro reminded me of a heart-piercing song that Joan Baez sings to one of my all-time favorite sappy/romantic/hippy sci-fi movies, Silent Running... here's the scene and the music I was reminded of from your beautiful piece:

	Gail I can def. relate. I wrote a song about some friends who died in a car crash in Louisiana. Just the process of developing the song for their son helped me to process the sadness. Yep.
A bunch of pain comes through, Gail...screaming through. Those high strings cry in the midst of everything. You've done a beautiful job capturing just exactly what you set out to portray...And "putting up" with you is not ever a problem. It is wonderful that you wish to share your "journal" with us. It is always marvelous when you post a new song. Sadness though this one contains, it is, nevertheless, so beautifully written and thoughtfully rendered.

Although there may be sadness in the song, I am fine. As you know, some songs are sad and others happy. My life has been somewhat dramatic, stressful, as of late and this song seemed to capture some of the feelings of frustration a bit. Thanks for listening and for the kind comments Paul!

Very delicate
The opening is delicate, yet the descending bass line lets us know the depths of feelings you are experiencing. The classic combination of piano and strings with the addition of the almost human cry of the synth is very evocative. I'm glad you were inspired, and put it all down for us to share in this piece of bittersweet music.
