Why another version?... Why not!... Okay so, it's about a global water shortage. How to make a difference: www.twestival.fm/?p=195 Well..., also, my dear friends told me that the last version I did sounded sad and it's not the first time I've heard this and it kinda bothered me.. So hopefully this one will point ya towards up instead of in a downwards direction. No offense, Jiguma! We be liking Down Under!

I can't believe how crafty she is with her voice!?... Clearly, it sings to me... Can't seem to get enough of it. So beautiful! I haven't posted either version for Miss Heap, but if you've heard the last version I did, I'm wondering which would you choose to present to her to hear?

Hope you enjoy it!

Thanks! Dion

Hard to decide, Dion...
I can pretty much guarantee that no one else out there is going to have turned out anything like what you've done here, and in the other one....

Reminding me here of some of the early and arty Kate Bush for some reason... this time....

Ms. Heap has quite the voice... Kind of neat how you frame the da-da-da's with the horns there... Very sudden and dramatic stop, too...

Now I've got that, "It's all ri-i-ight...." part in my head, too....

Lot o' help I am, right?....

be
nice, the way you mixed Ms.Heap's vocal with your music. Take a listen to Baby coo on my page this song reminds me of it. Tell me what you think.

None taken Dion :)
You sure have an interesting take on music Dion. When I listen to I.H.'s acapella tracks I hear a very straight Kate Bush (now there's an oxymoron!) meets Peter Gabriel tune with a nice melody, an unambiguous beat, and chords that change where they make sense.

You know that I'm not wanting to sound rude here (and we've had similar discussions to this before I seem to remember), but your approach to music is unfettered by music theory or "traditional" ideas (like everyone playing in the same key). This is especially so when you work with someone else's vocals it seems. I'm guessing that you don't hear things quite the way I do :)

Man this is SO strange to my ears - fascinating, but strangely detached from the source material. Are you sure you never worked with Zappa? :) Kind of like some avante garde jazz mutant.

I'd love to hear the backing track without Ms Heap. You have incredible sounds and brilliant production technique, but I'm finding this just a little too weird for my "old guy" taste.

Cheers from Oz,
Neil

Yo, Neil
I love that you left this comment and I will reply to this and all other comments just a little later. It's more than likely, that you're not the only one that has this response to this piece. Good on ya, for daring to say this! REALLY do appreciate it! Dion

Extraordinary
This is incredibly original and creative. As Jiguma says, the vocal track by itself suggests some pretty straight ahead chords, but you have done a wonderful job creating a completely different harmonization for her melody; it seems bitonal to me. Amazing and wonderful. You do a great job with your percussion tracks too; very creative. You are an extraordinary talent!

BTW, you mention "Miss Heap" as the singer here... is she a MacJammer? Any further info on her would be appreciated.

Not Sure...
If I was in a band with you, I would probably just be irritated that you come up with such dissonance. It's sort of interesting, like listening to a couple different programs on the radio and the TV at the same time. It's a bit to intellectual for my taste and I can't process it, but since you asked, there you have it. I think Miss Heap would prefer the last version as it seemed to have a bit more melody than this one, but it sounds you had fun. And that's important. You are truly a Jackson Pollack of music.

Interesting
I have a great amount of respect for people that can break out and just make music without fitting the AABB etc pattern. I listened twice and it gets better and better...

Nicely done!

This is why you're so awesome!
You can turn music on its ear and come up with something strange, different and wonderful. You're a lone wolf, not playing by anyone's rules, ready to ride off into the sunset on his motorcycle, leaving the establishment in the dust. Or maybe I'm thinking of James Dean... ;)

Seriously, one of the reasons I like the different versions of this I've heard so far is that it doesn't play by "the rules," and yet, it's still so very listenable and entertaining. Back in the day, I had a knock down, drag out argument with a former band mate (and great friend) because I crammed two chords together in a song that weren't "supposed" to go together. He said I couldn't do that. I said I could and played the chords together and said "see!" You're constantly telling the rest of us "see!"

I've said it before and I'll say it again: You put together music like some people put together a painting. You "paint" with rhythms and tones, often breaking convention in remarkable and imaginative ways. You often reverse the typical roles of percussion and instruments to create interesting rhythmic devices. You really do put out some of the most interesting and innovative music on the site.

Plus, you're just such a darn nice guy...

There, is that enough sunshine blow up your.... ;)

Again, seriously, my only complain is YOU NEED TO MAKE MORE MUSIC!!!!!

Get to work!!! :)

Okay,
I absolutely loved the other version. I absolutely love this one too. your creativity is astounding. I can only appreciate as a listener and don't have the expertise to pick it apart. It sounds bright and exciting. I had to laugh at "I haven't a clue what she's singing." Neither do I! I hear you and what you've done. And it is grand. Thanks.
