Description
This is the original version reposted for Easter 2009. I tried using JP4 and NOTION to bring it up to date, but could not capture the flow and innocence of this version.

"Excelsior" Pronunciation: ik-'sel-sE-&r, -or; Function: noun; Etymology: trade name, from
Latin, higher, comparative of excelsus high, from past participle of excellere.

In Fall of 2004, I composed this piece. My very first classical orchestral composition.

"Excelsior!: The Power And Glory OF Christ", is a gift back to my God.

Thanks for listening.

What class Alimar
I remember when you posted your precious first version. You have REALLY added so much to this site !

I classy upliftment with a LOT of Beautiful music. Truly one of the best pieces of music of this style.

Maybe one of the best i've heard on the web. Especially as it goes on into the have way mark. When you add the choir and the orchestral buildup

Enjoyed this piece immensely
Although on a secular level as I don't align the personage of Yeshua bar Joseph with the festival of Ä’astre - but the orchestration is lithe, delicate, and full of subtle delights. Your devotion shines through - but for me it is more a celebration of the composer than the source of inspiration.

masterpiece is right
wow alimar...wow. while this entire composition is just incredible, my favorite part is your use of the timpani throughout. excellent energy and emphasis. I love how you pass the lead around to different instruments constantly - giving the feeling of swirling sound all around me. great harmonies. really lovely use of dynamics. this is just fabulous. thank you for reposting it!

Alimar
Thank you for this. In this modern age where praise music has taken on a rather one dimensional meaning, its great to hear a classical dedication. I can really appreciate your scoring and composition talents. Thanks for sharing.
