i really like your vocal and guitar work here. it'd be nice to have the lyrics posted - a pop lament tune - cool idea. that backing chorus is very cool

cool energy
i don't know why but this sort of reminds me of the B-52s. It has a neat sort of frenetic energy to it. Love the vocals - the background vox are really perfect for the feel of the song. Nice guitar work and great bass. welcome to MacJams! this is a great tune - thanks!

Thanks Kassia
Not a band I was thinking of, but I'll gladly take the comparison. Thanks for the comments.

Love this man, reminds me of a lot of the European bands I listened to in the eighties. Very Cool.

It sounds like a "Specials" Ballad. Had to listen again. This totally rocks.

Def has an 80s edge to it, though not really my intention. Thanks for listening.

I like the sound of the production
everything has nice separation and there's little or no distortion. The arrangement is clever and the vocals work well. Reminds me a bit of Robyn Hitchcock, and Blur as blindside said. Good company.

Ste - welcome to MJ!
I can hear where the Blur references come from, and any similarity there is a good thing. I like the bass track a lot, and the strat sounds ideal for the song. Vocals also good - would like to see the lyrics when you get around to it. It sounds like that ending was snipped a little too early somehow - maybe in the bouncing process (not sure what that is in Cubase-speak). I'd suggest leaving a little extra silence at the end of your project so that when you bounce it you get to hear all of your played ending. Only other nit I can hear is that the production sounds a little thin, but that's not a big problem.
Very good post.

Excellent
Cool alternapop song. Would be cool if the vox and drums were a bit louder in the mix. Check out a guy on MJ called Death Arrow who has a cool raw feel that this song reminds me of.

This song doesnt have the same sparce feel of your other works. I like this song as it is but I think it would be even better if you emptied the song out a bit and accentuated the sycopation of your vocals more. That is the catchy part of the song to me. Maybe with a more abrupt rather than sustained bass part. Enjoyed the song very much like all your stuff. Keep em coming. Hope you dont mind my real feedback but most people just give "great job" and that is it. That doesnt help anyone improve.

It's all there
Could just be tidied up a bit. I needed to hear a hair more vocal as after all, it's a song. Some REALLY interesting moments. I'd love to get my interfering fingers on it! LOL. Nah, Ste, cool track!
