	Mag Can't compare to your keyboard work. I am ham handed when it comes to the piano. This was cobbled together out of 3 passes at the keys building what could have been done on one pass my a competent player, but hey, ya can't do everything well. which is something I rarely do, and was impressed by how you conveyed so much emotion in so few words Philip. The music itself did a good job, as did your vocal. Sounds like a sneak-peek at a future classic ;) Some crazy harmony vocals there - I almost expected a Zappa-esque transmogrification into something bizarre, but alas, no, not this time.

You seem to be on a roll these days, buddy. This is a little steam roller of a song, that starts and wont let go. I like how the effect on the vocals gives this a cold, unearthly quality. This is the sort of lyric gets you in trouble with the missus!

I think I need to go get an antidepressant... in the big pass-around pack...

As cut-to-the-bone blunt as some of the best Lou Reed... the sort of thing that's cruelly honest at the same time that it conveys something real and almost romantic... And it's describing a real feeling that many people will relate to at the same time that it's not something that gets a lot of songs written about it...

Well done atmospherics on the track and the playing...I sometimes think that slow songs like this are hard to keep a groove going with, and hard to keep on tempo without sounding plodding and lugubrious... This thing moves like a glacier, but a glacier with great, slow, relentless swing... Nice unity of sound in terms of whatever's happening as regards reverb and ambience...

...this is food for the head isn't it?

As others have said - not what we've come to expect, but rewarding none-the-less!

Those piano chords take a bit of getting used to, but after a while they make perfect sense. Love the drums - but then I'm a sucker for ghosted snares!

More hmmmm.... It's not often I go for an immediate second listen but this requires it I think -

Actually some of the things happening with the piano work really well - those higher notes fluttering around: is it Jazz or what?

great, crisp drums and a solid melody.
lyrically, you're sounding pretty guilty there, Phil! ah, but I can relate to that.
I like the piano but I think a little velocity tinkering and verb might get it sounding a little more natural.
the strings were very welcome in the second verse.

The lyrics are poetry, they truly are. I'm a huge fan of conciseness in words and you really paint a world with these lines. Magnificent. Then the music is just ideal. The piano sounds really good to me, and - most importantly - the vocal is really nicely done, with a hint of distance and a whole trough of regret. Impressive. Nicely done. Peace.

Thanks for your kind words about, well, the words. Also the strokes for the piano. But alas, I think Dan T is right. It sounds a little unnatural. I did the best I could to vary the velocity, but I need to learn more about that I think. I think what I like about this song though is the sparseness. I tried not to fill it up with a bunch of tracks. It needed to breath, and while that leaves me more "exposed" I think it is better for it.---PEACE< P

Sometimes the You we desire is the idealized version of the person we have, kind of an ephemeral being that we perceive because we blind ourselves to the reality of the situation.
