Lyrics
Went for a walk down by the Boat Landing;
It was another lonely night...
No company, except for the shadow following me;
Etched in the pale moonlight...
And it's not fair I sing this sad refrain;
When you could heal my pain.
You took my sunshine and left me in the rain -
When you could heal my pain...
Once I was asked, "Is there someone in your life";
Well, I really don't know.
You gave me your heart - you pledged your love to me;
That's not the time to go...
Come back home - oh, won't you please;
If you look...you'll see I'm on my knees -
Yet you could heal my pain...
Instead you keep your distance so that you won't see;
How you make me cry...
"We'll keep in touch, I'll write you every day";
Sounds like a long goodbye...just a long goodbye...
And it's not fair I sing this sad refrain;
When you could heal my pain.
You took my sunshine - and left me in the rain -
When you could heal my pain...heal my pain...
...yes, you could heal pain...
It was another lonely night...
No company, except for the shadow following me;
Etched in the pale moonlight...
And it's not fair I sing this sad refrain;
When you could heal my pain.
You took my sunshine and left me in the rain -
When you could heal my pain...
Once I was asked, "Is there someone in your life";
Well, I really don't know.
You gave me your heart - you pledged your love to me;
That's not the time to go...
Come back home - oh, won't you please;
If you look...you'll see I'm on my knees -
Yet you could heal my pain...
Instead you keep your distance so that you won't see;
How you make me cry...
"We'll keep in touch, I'll write you every day";
Sounds like a long goodbye...just a long goodbye...
And it's not fair I sing this sad refrain;
When you could heal my pain.
You took my sunshine - and left me in the rain -
When you could heal my pain...heal my pain...
...yes, you could heal pain...

this is a really nice song with a good performance by you on the vocals. There are a couple of suggestions I would make about the production however on this. First is that the voice is panned to the right by a few degrees. Tradition would put a solo voice dead center in the stereo mix. Second is that it seems like the vocal could use some EQ applied. Sound to me like there is a little too much bass on the vocal and there are some slightly popped plosive sounds too. Rolling off some of the bottom using a shelving EQ with the center freqency at about 100 Hz might help. It also could use perhaps a bit of a boost in the 3 to 5 kHz "presence" range. Not much just a touch. Good job on this one.
