Go Preacher! w/Lunatrick

Get Flash to see this player.

Description
I hooked a beat and banged guitars on a socio-religious moment.
But I hit a dead-end on vocal and verse lyrics.
Enter Daniel Staniforth, the flowforth Lunatrick cat whose playing and composing I admire big time.

Mr. Lunatrick finished the lyric and vocal and BOOM, go Preacher!

Boss Hook: Guitars, bass, organ, beat geek, chorus vocal, arrangement, lyrics.

Lunatrick: Lyrics, lead vocal, mix.

(c) 2009 Boss Hook Music and Flowforth Productions.

Lyrics
Go Preacher!

Music: John LaMantia
Lyrics: Daniel Staniforth and John LaMantia
(c) 2009

I come not to bring peace
But to bring a sword

Go preacher preach your sermon now
Tell us that our sins are vermin now
Go preacher preach your sermon now

Fire and brimstone find their mark
From the blackened pulpit man
Sinners mutter in the dark
The spectres of this brutal plan
Sell your soul to me
For immortality

Go preacher preach your sermon now
Tell us that our sins are vermin now
Go preacher preach your sermon now
Tell us that our sins are vermin now

Fear like nails through the wood
Driven by this earnest priest
Eternal pain but God is good
Damnation served as a feast
Gluttons all are we
For immortality

Go preacher preach your sermon now
Tell us that our sins are vermin now
Go preacher preach your sermon now
Damned!

I have been
waiting a long time for another BossHook tune!

This one does not disappoint! Is there anything on MJ that Daniel is not a part of!? Man... every song has LunaTrick in it!!!

We should just rename this place MacLunkTrick!!!

But hey Daniel adds great stuff to every song! Way to go guys!

I'm am happy
to be back. Spent the winter getting used to my two new bionic hips and now that I am swiveling like Elvis again, I hope to spend more time recording and listening here. Great to hold a guitar again after too many months of crutches!

Cool
Moody Blues+The Doors+Dave Clark Five+The Kinks...or whatever

I like that singing and chorus. I don't exactly agree with the message.

Thanks for your honesty, Richard
I think we ran with the theme but meant no harm. It's pointed toward fanaticism more than faith.

fanaticism
Yes, some preachers are extremely unctuous. Some focus too much on the coffers. Some are hell bent on damnation. I like moderation: "Receive the Holy Spirit."

I don't know
why I should be surprised that Daniel was on this, but I am for some reason. Very inspired collaboration, massive Bowie vibe, all superb.
Cheers

Great peice of work
Kinda..., Hooky! Probably won't be dispersing from the tangles of the melody and beat that are now forged into and around the oddest image that was conjured up to accompany this in my busy little mind. That image animates a burning bible surround by the brilliance of darkness... There's something that's obviously not so good about this I'm sure but for now, it has me tapping my feet while bobbing my head in an exaggerated fashion. I'm sure to deal w/ an enlightened fall out at some point along the way downward and near the end of an imaginary road to hell. Stocking up on freon... This would make a great score to be be played as the march in one's travels anywhere and near, that end point, but closer to homeward bound but more particularly, during the final days of a humbled little existence here. Whoa... Who said that...

Nice job! Both yaz! Thanks for the traveler; I took one "to go"... Dion

Yeah boy!
Fear-based religion sucks! But this song rocks righteously!

Love the almost 60's garage band approach to the guitars and bass.

Agree with Vic re Daniel's Bowie-like vocals.

Greatness!

Be well friends!

Taking turns
It "listens" great. A lot of people have said things I'll hold back from repeating. A great collab--especially the alternating vocals--interesting and with great results.
