Thanks! I heard this on This American Life. I subscribe to the podcast and listened to this one a number of times. It was in an episode that posted shortly after Studs passed away. Thanks! I was thinking for a long time about this one, because the whole story piece is a lot longer, and I could have just kept going, I got out the mandolin thinking I would just extend this with a mandolin riff and add more bits of the speaking part but then I didn't want to get too literal. I was trying to distill out a certain feeling. And then I had a busy day and decided to just finish it up like this. I try not to over-do things these days... thanks for visiting and commenting! Jim You've been doing this style of post for a while now, combining spoken word with your restrained playing and musical ideas. I like the changes you make to the spoken words and the way the music lends a sense of almost visual space. Taken a step further, it would be interesting to see what some young videohead could do with this. Raving, sorry - this is fascinating stuff Jim.
