Description
While I rarely use loops, when I first got into using Logic, an obvious way to learn my way around it was to play around with them. One groove I had created, with a Latin flavor, I kept, liking it. Later on I added a bunch of live tracks, including vocals - my first shot at them.

So what we have here is a slowly building groove, trance-like in a sense, leading to bridge with a short solo on classical guitar and ending, back to the groove, with some soloing on electric guitar.

Enjoy.

Groove
I just got back from the caribbean and would see little Latin bands and Steeldrum Bands playing songs that just had a nice groove and the musicians would take turns soloing over top of the beat. This has a nice feel to it. Great job.
Thanks Mike

Hi Mike
Yeah, it does that sunny feel to it - must be the Brazilian music influence which colors part of my music.

I also enjoy how the different parts unfold, while it's actually simple. Three, four parts ? Though with the first one unfolding slowly, layer by layer. . .

Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks !

Beautiful
I love the latin groove. This song pulled me right in immediately.Wonderful guitar work. Blending a folk style picking with the latin percussion was a stoke of genius. I'm off to listen to more of your music.

Nice
Warmness. I really like the guitar on this. Nice environment. I also like the vocal touches. Perfect for a rainy/snowy spring Wisconsin day (which is what I'm having).

To loop or not to loop
I'm too looped to treck. Anyway, good sounds are good sounds and arranging loops is just as challenging I find (and sometimes more) than doing a piece instrumentally. This is a very clever and clean production.
Very nice,
Stephen

Doesn't it ?
Guess it's this yummy combination of Latin and. . folk ? With the finger-picking. It's makes for a nice mix.

Some of the Latin stuff - like the Brazilian for example - clearly has that fell-good vibe.

Thanks for listening.

I'm still
listening as I write this. Your classical guitar is gentle like a caressing breeze and the quiet vocalizing is sultry and seductive as a warm day on the beach. Elegant ending. Thanks.

Brilliant Bernard
truely... your music here does for me what Nando lauria does... transports me... and while this seams like a sketch of a larger work it still sends me on that same trajectory.. the build is so subtle.. and grows up around me as I drink it in... are those voices loops?.... they're perfect...

you're a very musical guy

A sketch
of a larger work. . . Interesting that you say that, for I feel too that there's something unfinished or lacking in it - though why and what, I have no idea.

It evolved on its own, as is often the case, starting from that basic groove I'd kept. Then found the acoustic guitar riff and the rest unfolded.

Nando, right. It's the Brazilian thing, really. Metheny has that influence a lot too - one of my all times' favorites. Interesting that Nando was part of Metheny's 'The Way Up' band and tour, which I saw live - one if not the top concert I ever been to.

And you have a very musical ear. Scott.

Thanks for dropping in.

Oh I forgot. . .
They're not loops. They're my humble first attempt at doing vocals on a recording. What fun ! That possibility now of doing harmonies by oneself. . . Nando did some amazing stuff in that sense. Like many others, of course - Bobby McFerrin, for instance. Stunning voice.

Wordless open vocals are something I've been always enjoying and doing while I play, quietly for myself or more openly. Like Gould or Jarrett, I'm one of those who hum along a lot when I play.
