Giggle Gigue - the Loop Station series

Description
From the vault of old recordings, here's a simple, on-going ambient or atmospheric mix over which I made a long solo, progressively coming in. It was done entirely with my guitar-synth, using a Boss Loop Station I had at the time which I used to make multi-layered recordings prior to getting a Mac and Logic. As its memory was limited - the greater the number of layers, the more so - I'd do a few minutes and import in a basic audio editor, do another part, import that and add it to the first and so on.

Interestingly, I had dismissed for a long time the value of the guitar-synth's 'fiddle' patch I used to solo with, to eventually discover that, tweaked the right way, it turns out to be quite good, on the 'electric violin' side of things.

Enjoy.

Giggle Gigue
I think this is so much like a new age theme ...with more into a sound track
for a dreamy scene ...the fiddle ..is more synthetic but it gives the song
the style it needed ...it is good ...fine Art my friend ..thnx alot for sharin !!!!

You're welcome Feter !
New age, mmmm ? Well, I'll be damned. Laughing. OK. Let's make that 'easy listening' - how's that ? Well, anyhow.

I like it too. Nothing spectacular, yet. . .
And I love that 'fiddle' sound.
Synth..etic ? Clearly.

Thanks again
to drop
in.

Better than smooth jazz...
which is basically Fuzak (cross between fusion and muzak). This is more experimental and contemplative. Jazzethereal perhaps! Nice stuff!

Jazzethereal - sounds good.
Experimental's good too. Thanks for passing by Lunatrick.

PS : Having no cello at hand - sigh - got me into adding a 'baroque violin' type of sound - of String Studio - in the intro of that piece I'm on these days. It's almost done and I look forward to send it to Filmscorz and see how it all comes out. Wahoo.

Well. . .
It's a synth like any other, yet for guitar using a 13 pins' cable and the 'hexaphonic' system, whose tracking is far superior than what was available before. It still needs improvements though - can't really work with MIDI for instance, too many ghost notes.

Thanks for listening.

Guitarolin.
That's amazing. The only other guitar synth work I've heard is Allan Holdsworth. At the risk of sounding sappy, I have to say that there's nothing quite as joyful as little kids playing and laughing. So innocent. OK, I'm a sap. This is some very uplifting music. You have powers. Now, if only you will continue to use your powers for good*, and not evil.**

* beautiful music
**smooth jazz

Got it - it's 'good' then !
It's funny how it got there - to children laughing. As I used this 'fiddle' sound, that led me to think of the word 'gigue' which typically here is a fiddle type of tune. And that made me think of the word 'giggle' which took me to the actual laughter and - voilà !

Who would have thought - certainly not me.

Thanks for passing by.

A rose by any other name ...
would be as beautiful as this. Absolutely delightful listen, influenced no doubt by the kids laughter. Thanks.

Would be
wonderful for an interpretative dance troupe. I was swaying and feeling it. What violin would sound like if played on a water planet, water sprites. Thanks.

softly infectious
relaxing as a Summer's day, washing away the anxiety and burden of adulthood, allowing me to breathe the blue sky and think puffy-cloud thoughts again. Elegant musicianship Bernard, as always.

Softly infectious
I like that there are good kinds of infections too ! I love that piece a lot too - I'll have to bring back that 'fiddle' sound some time. . .

Thanks for your appreciation
and for stopping by
Édouard !

Hi everyone. Bernard here on the line, live from Montreal. While I'm basically new to home-recording, I've been playing acoustic guitar for over 40 years, mainly on my good old classical Ovation although I now have an old Fender cutaway and a Si... [see more]
