in the mid-lower range... ...this oboe sounds great. I do also very much like the repeated string ensemble chords throughout: a minimum of distraction from the solo line and one that is sort of hypnotic. I would say, though, that the piece is awfully short. I was hoping that perhaps you'd change the tonality and move into a "B" section...That's just a thought. This short number suggest (at least to me) many possibilities for development into something much larger. I encourage you to consider continuing to work on this. Loads of potential. Very glad to hear your work. Peace. Paul Check out my latest song called Double Etude

Thanks Paul, I think most fine musicians can't help but discover more possibilities as they listen to a new and potential fertile work. I'm please you found that and perhaps one day I'll find the time to develop this some more. Check out my latest song called Always Good to see You

Magnetic oboe I love the free flowing feel to the oboe solo and how it entrances the listener, following along every hill and dale in the phrasing set against the regularity of the rhythm of the strings. Small nit: I think it could definitely go somewhere as it seems to end rather suddenly when it is still full of great interest for the listener. And as Paul said, a change of key or something at this point would open huge doors of creative opportunity. Lovely work! Be well, Doug Check out my latest song called Desiree (MJ Space Race 2009)

Very soft layers... You seem to like the gently rocking string backing, works well here... and yes I agree with Paul & Doug, the oboe line is really entrancing, and the piece is tantalizingly short. Check out my latest song called Lullaby for the Inner Child
