More Is Less - by Awigze - Collab

Description
Awigze posted this simple yet efficient groove over which he played a couple of free flowing saxophone tracks - http://www.macjams.com/song/47916. I liked it and decided to download it and add my touch. I simply backed what he played rather than going into soloing too, as his playing stands nice and clear by itself.

I had fun doing it - thanks Andy for this opportunity !

Awigze : composition, drum, bass and saxophone.
Me : keys, electric guitar and steel drum.

Enjoy.

Nice collaboration.
Sounds like you were together on the vision for this song. Jazzy but mellowed out vibe. Thanks.

A whole new meaning
Wow - nice feel and very interesting interpretation. You have definitely improved this little ditty. Kind of want to tone the drums down some to help bring out your great work.... I am honored that you nabbed this and heard something and felt compelled to add your creativity to it. Thank you very sincerely.

Boundless
came back for a listen with my wife.... she's got a big smile on her face! The fils of the keys really resets the tone to this song

I know
It was obvious to me that it would do that - that a chord progression would give it a new life. Glad your wife enjoyed it too !

andy, i missed the original post of this but wow man. incredible free-flowing playing. boundless, your additions are great. love those keys kind of holding things together. the steel drum added a cool new sound and texture. this is a very cool tune. great job to both of you.

Thanks Kassia
Yes, Andy's free flowing playing is wonderful here. As for me, I just supported it - with the keys first, and then I felt it could use another touch and thought of that steel drum - that I rediscovered recently - which played in harmony with the electric guitar through the guitar-synth gives a great tone.

Thanks again !

Steeldrums!
Enjoyed the saxophone/bass riff, soloing and soothing overall layering of the various instruments. Drum loops fits and sounds great, but after the intro I find it a little forward in the mix compared to the solo instruments. One idea would be to put the saxophone solo in the center (leave the sax theme on the right channel) to make it stand out during the solo. But truly - adding that steel drum - brilliant.

Well. . .
That's something you'd need to write Awigze about - there's the link to his original post up here. In any case, about the panning that's why I decided to hard pan too the guitar and steel drum track - which by the way, was done through the guitar-synth with the steel drum patch 'harmonized' with what I was playing. It does make for a very usable sound that blend.

Thanks for your input and appreciation !

Parichayaka
I am not sure why I mixed it that way ... I guess wanted to put the effect more on one side and the main on the other.... at the time, it was more of an experimentation for the newly acqired gear and was seeing whats what.... The song needs work here and there as far as the original mix. I love what Boundless has done and added a whole new flavor. Thanks or the input- really appreciate it...

Those nasty little tingles up the spine...
... they felt so good. A little dirty, and just enough to not wanna shower right away...

Like ya did it together...

I could learn a few licks from the drummer but then, he could learn a few from me so, it's all good

Yumity freakin, yum yum...

Cooli freaken 0!

Pure sweetness

Peace
