Description
In stead of going into deep space this time I am venturing into the depths of the ocean. Whalesong, water, pressure, strange world, deep, effected voices all appear within the confines of this soundscape.

I think it is better heard on speakers as opposed to headphones, because it seems to give more depth or a better effect to the piece, but I'll let you be the one to decide.

Any thoughts you have on this mix, good or otherwise are always welcome.

Hi Daniel.........
Luckily I had my bathysphere handy, as my space suit had a hole in it, and I went under the waves with this one.

My ideas are slowly Petering (or is it Pauling) out, so the musical straws are being clutched with some force.

I hoped you'd like the under sea feel to the piece.

Take care.

This reminds me of that scene from Wrath of Khan... "It is very cold, in space!"
Great imagery, great sound. My boss just walked in and heard this playing and said "ooo, that's nice".

Hi BSP.....
You are lucky. My boss would have probably made me unemployed.

I've seen the film but can't remember the scene. I'll dig it out and watch it again.

I'm glad you liked the soundscape.

Take care.

This is a great environment clear and sharp. My mind tries to rap around an underlined music in it anywhere so that I can focus and maybe not focusing is the key to this track. lol thx for the wonderful listen and thx for sharing it with us. I enjoyed it immensely.

Hi........
You've hit the nail on the head with my music, don't focus unless the focus is wide angle, as opposed to microscopic. Let your imagination take over the driving whilst you sit back and fall into the soundscape.

Thanks for listening and your very kind comments.

Take care.

A tune...
...written about me! Excellent!

Seriously, a lovely ambient soundscape. Snorkelling under the waves. I'm getting to like genre more and more.

Hi Dava.....
Glad you liked the 'shout'!! If the song fits......

It's always good to know that my imagined scenario gells with someone else.

Thanks for listening and leaving your thoughts.

Take care.

Sweet, Paul
Puts me in mind of and undersea world, but not this one we're on. The sounds are all so unusual and come in such varied ways that it's hard to fully grasp where you are and what's happening around you.

But at the same time some of the sounds are no quite so alien as to cause fear, more curiosity, and wonder.

Very beautifully done Paul, Kudos on this whole series, including this one.

Hi Ed.....
The main idea for this soundscape was to try and depict an alien environment but one that was not so 'otherworldly' but strange none the less.

Your thoughts on my 'scape are really quite apt. I agree fully with your ideas.

Thank you for the kind words. They are appreciated.

Take care.

Underwater space ambience.
Maybe underwater on Europa. Or, maybe waaaaaaayyyy down, in the abyss, where all is blackness, the denizens with their otherworldly forms. It does give the sense of a lack of space, as though you can barely see your hand in front of your face. I'm always amazed at the way you can conjure up such a variety of images. Oh, and if Dava had a song done in his honor, I can think of no one better than you to provide it. Another mind-expanding trip.

Hi Duane.....
Europa sounds good, but I thought we could have the rest of the solar system but NOT Europa?? Maybe that's why the sentient beings in 2001 didn't want us there..

Thanks for listening and leaving your thought-invoking comments. Stay tuned. There will be others to come.

Take care.

Hi Doug......
Thanks for all your kind comments.

These recent mixes were all done on the crest of a creative wave, and I'm still surfing the remnant of the wave, although it's fading quite fast now.

I hope to keep (at a slower pace) up with the new ideas and share them with others, here on Macjams.

Take care.

I enjoy creating music using computers and 'synthesized' as opposed to 'real' instruments. I have no problem using samples/loops in my music. Everyone does this every time they work with a track. I don't fit in any box and thoroughly enjoy working ou... [see more]
