Mother - by Mtransue - Collab

Description
Mtransue uploaded a good mix that caught my ear, a mix that breathed enough to allow for more, so I decided to add my touch to it. I added something during the choruses, using a blend of guitar-synth and electric guitar in the first and electric guitar in the second.

Thanks to Max for allowing me to collaborate
on an already beautiful mix.

Enjoy.

Nice collab
Really. I love the synth guitar in the first section, at times sounds like an electrified accordian...may be a little too up front production wise, but very cool. The second break with the electric lead is very sweet...seems to be at the right level too. I personally dig this one man...going to play it on the radio on Wed morning.

On the radio
Sounds good ! Production wise. . . It's always somewhat tricky, for me anyhow, to add a track to an existing mix that's been already brought up to a high level so that it blends seamlessly. And actually, for a number of reasons, mixing as such is a tricky business - too little ? you lose it, too much ? well, too much. It was actually hotter and, after a break, I heard it. And so they often say that it's better to have a mix mastered by a fresh pair of ears. Fair enough.

Thanks for the appreciation and feedback !

Dude
Sick lead man. I love what you did with it. That guitar in the second chorus sounded rich and organic, very nice. Would you be able to send me the masters so I could play with it a little and maybe mix in a horn?

Hey Max
Glad you enjoyed it ! Thanks again for letting me in.

Sure I'll send it - and about mixing anything else in, well, hey, it's yours ! And it's part of the pleasure here, to have many versions of a song. Have fun !

enjoyed
the combination harmonica-synth with the guitar rhythm, nice orchestral violins as well which gives it the laid back feel. Nice George Benson like lead electric. Enjoy the variation in the all the guitar lead styles.

Nice fade out with the bending guitar strings as well and the background guitar . . .

Thanks for sharing

George Benson
Well, why not. Somehow, the piece did lead to this kind of playing - something between jazz and rock.

Thanks for the feedback !

oooh, silky...
The drop was unexpected, and good. I'd love to remix this, if you can send me the master tracks in wav or aif format...

Well
You'd need to ask Mtransue about that
- after all, it's his piece.

Glad you enjoyed it !

Metheny and Mays in one?
I'm definitely hearing echoes of the old Pat Metheny Group here. "James"-era.

Very nice soloing.

Dreamy groove
Dreamy, translucent, a very nice balance between organic groove and improvisational transcendence. You and Mac make a great team, and your Dad is a marvelous promoter! Thanks for posting for free on MJ. You are a wonderful contributor. I dig the balance between acoustic feel and electric smoothality...

Wow... just sails along
effortless, sounds like you two were on exactly the same wavelength through this. Gorgeous collab... just got pointed here by a proud father, hi Max! Funny, I didn't hear any particularly glaring mixing issues, seemed very well mixed to me. Bernard, Max, superb duo here!
