Lyrics
Sad morning came, and brought another lonely day;
You packed up my life and I watched you walk away.
I knew when I met you I'd find a reason to believe;
And I've never been one to wear my heart on my sleeve.

When I looked around...I was alone;
All we built came crashing down...I was alone...

I took a walk in the rain, I ended up on your street;
I can't hide this chain, I'm not looking too discreet.
You told me you love me - but you're in love with him;
I said I'd set you free, but my resolve's caving in...

Why can't you hear me, no; I'm just not that strong.
I count every teardrop that falls on this song;
I sit and stare at the phone -
Cause when I looked around...I was alone...

The best laid plans can sometimes go awry;
Behind a warm hello might be another sad goodbye.
Love can bring pain, there's no reason to pretend -
But I'll fall in love again hoping to win out in the end...

But when I looked around...I was alone...
And all we built came crashing down...I was alone...

Was Alone
Great tune!
I agree about the organ, but that's just me... I think if God were to design an instrument of worship Himself, it would be a B3 with a Leslie.

blindsidedpoets,
I appreciate that. I like the idea of s B3 with a leslie as well. If I ever get the chance to record again I would hope to use it.

I enjoy
the realistic lyrics and nice soft rock deliver with a bit of country feel as well. Nice addition to the strings. Seems like I don't hear enough easy to understand words which I think is one of the great things about good pop country sounds.
Nice addition of the violin synth feel as well. The percussion have a nice simple bounce that adds to the composition !

Thanks for sharing

Was Alone
Rock solid lyrics and vocal delivery. The way you put this togeather is also top notch. I think the only thing that I noticed was, vocals in places were kind of hot. Great track though. Very nice listen. Thanks!

Was Alone
This is so sweet, the hook "Was Alone" fits perfectly. The lyrics are a story being told.
Sounds like the vocal are going into the RED.
The harmonies are very mellow.

:: Great Story ::
