Description
As my home state is getting ready to execute an inmate I thought a song about the death penalty might be in order.

This is about a man waiting to be executed.

Lyrics
Final Chance To Cry

One more day to live, one less day to die.
Final chance to give, final chance to cry.
Tired of all the talk, lawyers had their say.
Victims line the walk, Judge denied the stay.

Fear is not regret, pain is not remorse.

Christians walk the street, yet no one is alarmed.
Lay me down to sleep, stick me in the arm.
Get down on my knees, no one here to serve.
Don't you cry for me, we get what we deserve.

"Vengeance is mine," saith the Lord
"Vengeance for those who live by the sword."

One more hour to live, one last hour to die.
No time left to give, final chance to cry.

Hey Vic!
Thanks Vic for commenting.

No, not a real accordion. It is a Boldt software accordion played through a Korg K61P Controller. I used it on "In My Heart" along with a GB organ sound. The controller is a pretty good instrument and opened the GB software instruments up to me.

Love the acoustic work..
I was so thrown back when i heard stick me in the arm! I was listening from the kitchen when I heard this .. it brought me ovre to read the lyrics...this tune is COMPLETE!! it says exactly what it was written for.. now Im going to upload the BOLT accordions .. it has a very jazz funeral sound.. i guess its the accordion.. and the timing.. great production as well!! thanx....

Deep, well written
lyrics. You stated your opinion without getting preachy. Tough to do for me. I avoid love songs like it appears you do so I can appreciate how much harder it is to write an original song topic than just saying "I love you" etc. Enjoyed it.

Thanks for the Visit
Thanks for coming by and giving a listen. I'm glad you enjoyed the song.

I've written love songs (listen to "In My Heart" on my site) but not in the June-Moon style. I like to take a different approach, or at least look at a subject, love included, in a different way.
