Description:
Hello all. Just a little tune. Mostly non loops, although most of the beats are GarageBand loops. Still learning about music, it's fascinating isn't it?
Please rate and comment. Thank you very much.

Hardware:
Just me, my mac and a M-Audio Keystation 49e.

Software:
GarageBand of course.

Well Done &mdash 12/08/04 - 04:03:26 PM
It's easy for me to lose interest but you kept my attention
for the entire tune. I was impressed with how the piece
progressed and transitioned between sections.

I appreciate your comments. Too bad you could rate it as that feature is
temporarily out of order. Cheers!

Dramatic &mdash 12/09/04 - 05:09:02 PM
Love the drama. Dynamic and moving, and
melodramatically fun. Nice game track. Very good mix.

Dramatic &mdash 12/09/04 - 05:33:45 PM
Thanks Tobin, I'm very pleased that you enjoyed it. You're also the first
one to point out this track is more a game soundtrack than a movie
soundtrack. I composed it with video games in mind. Thanks again!

genre success &mdash 12/14/04 - 08:35:07 AM
this is such a great song, it transcends the genre. very entertaining. thrilling even. and with game tracks, you have to work with a condenced sound pallet, which you do well.

"Just a little tune" &mdash 12/14/04 - 09:00:19 PM
From that, I wasn't expecting something so cool.

Amazing... I love video game music, and this would
definitely go good in one. The 'quick-moving'
instruments are for sure a gaming thing.

Near the end (about four fifths of the way through the
song) I am reminded of "Clubbed to Death" from
the Matrix... with the deep strings climbing up... but the
rest of the music sounds nothing like it... so it keeps the
originality feeling (that probably could have been said
better).

anyway, nice work! I will check out your other stuff soon...
this one is going on my favorites.

"Just a little tune" &mdash 12/15/04 - 02:55:56 AM
Thank you Impassible. Rob D's "Clubbed to Death" is my favorite track
on The Matrix ablum, so it's obvious that song was a partial inspiration.
Specifically, the actual game that inspired me was "Metal Gear Solid." I
love games, I love movies, and I love the musical scores that make those
two so enjoyable. Thanks again!

Moving... &mdash 12/15/04 - 07:43:32 AM
Nice variation of melodies. Easy song to listen to. Love the piano. Whatever you are learning...it's working. Effective builds to transitions. Great tempo shifts...how'd you do that? Thanks for sharing.

Muchas Gracias... &mdash 12/15/04 - 11:43:50 AM
Since I only used GarageBand I just used one tempo setting, and tried to
make it sound like the tempo shifted throughout, when in fact it's all
done on the same tempo. I hope that cleared it up somewhat.

Why fight? Just make music baby, 'cause it's all good...

you're a great computer game music composer &mdash 06/17/05 - 01:09:47 PM
I'm really enjoying hearing your various tracks today.

The overall impression that I am left with is that you are
an excellent composer of computer-game music. I would
hope that some software developer will discover you and
hire you to write some music for computer games.

This piece has a lot of drama, and as previously
mentioned, you make great use of a small number of
sounds. Perfect for this genre!
