Description:
This is my second GB song ever. I used GB drum loops and then played everything else. This song is about how all I want to do is write music for National Public Radio, but I don't have time because my apartment's not clean. This song takes a while to get going, so hang in there. Comments appriciated.

Hardware:
borrowed Mbox, Audix OM2, Ensoniq Halo, Fender Mexican strat, Fender Jazz bass

What a fantastic track! &mdash 12/08/04 - 01:26:07 PM
Blimey, only your second track and you've already
produced something rather special! It's a shame that
no-one can vote at the moment because this easily
deserves a few eights! I'd perhaps try and get your
excellent vocals up a bit higher in the mix because
they are a bit overwhelmed by everything else but
otherwise this is a storming number! Well done and
keep up the good work.

Bring the vocals up a bit. Great track!

Write on &mdash 12/08/04 - 02:48:58 PM
Well, maybe some day you'll be a guest on NPR. Good
jorb! You show promise. The vocals get a little thin and
pasty at times. Maybe that's part of the dreaminess of this
construct. You ahve a talent for song writing. 8-7-8-8

I'd like to seem some background info in your user bio.

Bjork does Strawberry Fields &mdash 12/08/04 - 10:13:45 PM
and stays in tune. This, and more on "All things
Considered" - Nice stuff. Keep it coming please.

Brilliant stuff &mdash 12/09/04 - 07:00:15 AM
This is great, thank you for sharing it with us. You
obviously have a lot of songwriting talent as well as
instrumental skills. I'd agree with Epileptic Gibbon
that such a lovely voice deserves to be a bit higher in
the mix, but it's a great song and I hope you'll be
posting more in the future.

Strawberry fields... &mdash 12/09/04 - 01:17:26 PM
is what this reminds me of during the intro. But then shifts to a power ballad. Very cool. Vocals need to be much louder. Way out front with the voices. Did I mention the vocals were a bit too low? Why no lyrics? Cool artwork. Enjoyed it. Thx.

not bjork... &mdash 12/09/04 - 02:21:30 PM
aimee mann maybe, but not bjork! What was ka-
klick thinking? Oh well, that doesn't really matter.
There's a lot of great things going on in this one. I
agree with ProjectW - the vocals need to be a little
stronger, but otherwise a nice one... personally, I like
all the distortion...a little scruffiness is good

Next on Morning Edition... &mdash 12/09/04 - 03:08:50 PM
...music that totally rocks!! The vocals at the end are so
much cleaner (no pun) than the beginning. Loved the little
Beatlesesque flute bit at the beginning and then near the
end. My only complaint is that I can't make out the lyrics
very easily. Great work here! 7-7-8-8 (the song content
would have been at least an eight if I could understand
the lyrics)

Picture yourself in a boat on a river... &mdash 12/09/04 - 07:36:02 PM
Could not shake the Beatles out of this as I listened to it.

Overall a very decent piece of music. The vocals need
some pumping up... Your vocals deserve to be front and
center.

Keep up the good work.

Wait, wait...don't tell me &mdash 12/10/04 - 06:57:38 PM
I think I love everything about this tune. It's hard to say
though cuz I had difficulty understanding the words. I
heard the voice, it was loud enough, me just no
understand. Lyrics would haved pacified me and provided
a fuller, richer song experience for me. LOVE THE SONG
all ready though! The big trashy chorus is total ROCK.
Also like the dark turn it takes toward the end of the
progression. Good luck with all your NPR goals. Hope you
don't get there via The Annoying Music Show!

I like it. It's a neat song.

vocals &mdash 02/01/05 - 12:37:27 PM
need to be louder, but other than that, I can't think of a
way to improve it. Love the up-and-down flutey stuff and
how it leads to the chorus.
