Description
Another one from the vault of old recordings.
Here's what I wrote as an introduction to the 'Zoom series' in the first piece I posted of it :
"Prior to getting a Mac and Logic, apart from what I did with a Boss Loop-station, my first multitrack experiments took place when a friend of mine, going on a trip, left me his Zoom multitrack machine, a model of the first generation - and if I recall rightly, it was also the period when I got my Godin Multiac and the GR33 guitar-synth and was getting acquainted with them. All the tracks of the pieces I did with that machine were done with them, save for the drum tracks which, in some pieces, were done using presets that came with the Zoom.
Listening to those mixes again, I wish I could remix the tracks with the tools and knowledge I have now - they are, for one thing, way too compressed - yet there isn't much I can do, save doing my best to clean the audio files up and tweak them in Logic. They remain fun to listen to and a source of interesting ideas I might come back to eventually."
*
Apart from classical and electric guitars, this one was all done with the guitar-synth, drums included.
The title refers to the synth's sound 'gliding' effect used in the intro which, I became aware afterward, brings to mind a whale's song.
Enjoy.

...in heat...Liquid guitar lead is really smoooooooooothe in this mix with all the sloshy water dappled with sunlight and sea vegetation. I am falling into such a relaxed space, very far from room where I am listening to this. There are some wonderful licks here and...oh...here comes the sax. I think you've nailed this one. You have created some atmospheric mood jazz here that just brings peace and calm that can't be avoided. Marvelous comp that kept my interest from note one.
Peace.
