Description
This is simply an extended version of 'The Asteroid Miners' that I uploaded a couple of weeks? ago.

You don't need volume on this so crank the slider down to 50% or less and sit back to trekking in your virtual space suit with your virtuial tools on your virtual asteroid, somewhere in the Oort Cloud or beyond.

Hopefully it will not evoke pictures of kids in an asteroid creche!!

As always I'm keen to hear your thoughts.

Hi......
Glad you didn't see the kids and I hope you were taken somewhere exciting in your imaginary journey.

Take care.

I'm guessing the pay is good
Big industrious sound. You're bringing all my sci-fi visions to music. I guess I missed the first version. Asteroid creche ... the asteroid minors? .... oh , hahahaha ... ahem ... sorry. Not very funny. Anyway, very well done. I like your extended pieces. Now, lay off those asteroids! They are part of the pristine and primordial universe. I know, it's just me. No one ever agrees with me about that.

Hi Duane......
I tend to do extended mixes for nearly all my uploads here, but few are uploaded as I usually forget that they are there and move on to something else. I have a very volatile mind and lose track of what I've done!! I then re-cover them later.

The asteroid miners unfortunately are in it for the money. The adrenalin rush is just their hit for the day. When you're living on the edge in space, there's nowhere to fall, you just float. A sort of Nirvana with callouses.

I'm glad you keep seeing my musical pictures similar to how I see them.

The asteroids are probably remnants of catastrophic happenstances at some stage in the galaxy's history, so they're no stranger to being manipulated in some harsh way. There are no National Park's on them or they are World Heritage Sites yet, so I say mine the damn things, especially if we need the resources.

Take care.

Really super mix Paul
I like this a lot.... the drones and the contrapuntal blips work really well to produce the vision!

Hi Daniel......
I'm trying slightly subtle differences in my more recent tunes, so it's good you comment on the drones and such. I hadn't noticed they could be a component part of my mixes until I heard free Ambient albums and stuff from other sites on the web.

Check out 'The Darkside of Light' for another side road into Cinematic Dark Ambient.

Take care.

I enjoy creating music using computers and 'synthesized' as opposed to 'real' instruments. I have no problem using samples/loops in my music. Everyone does this every time they work with a track. I don't fit in any box and thoroughly enjoy working ou... [see more]
