Description
The next installment of the virtual album Life In A Day.

I played with 3/4 time and wanted to have a longing feel. It turned out sounding like something you would hear in Braveheart.

As always, I mixed GarageBand loops.

Loops used:

Beltane Tambourine 01
Beltane Tambourine 05
Beltane Tambourine 06
Beltane Tambourine 07
Beltane Whistle 01
Beltane Whistle 02
Beltane Whistle 03
Beltane Harp 01
Beltane Harp 03
Beltane Recorder 02

This is cool
I could hear this in Braveheart. It's almost cinematic, yet not quite. Very interesting in it's simplicity. I feel like it kind of draws me in. I think it's to short. It's good enough that I want something else to happen when.....it ends.

Nice job on this.

The original idea I started off with had nothing to do with those sounds. I just wanted to do something in 3/4 that wasn't your typical piano waltz.

I know what you mean by making it longer. The trouble I ran into was to make it still sound interesting while keeping the "integrity" of the loop motif.

I'll probably revisit and remaster this song on my virtual album "The Lost Tapes Of Life In A Day" :)

Glad you enjoyed it.

I started this project a few years ago just for fun.
I'm challenging myself to make an "album" that is interesting and also constructed of the loops provided in GB and Jam Packs (except for Maple Leaf Rag which I played, but there is a drum loop)

Oh..
I so love music that sounds Celtic. Your drum and flute do that here. This definitely needs to be longer. Perhaps if you had a story to tell, you could more easily add some more parts. Thanks.

The drawback is that the JamPacks don't have much in the way of the Celtic sound. I could go against the spirit of the piece and add my original sounds.

But, then again, I love the challenge of trying to make something out of nothing :)
