Into the breach Definitely worth developing. I agree with TBR -- it's a film score. You've placed a real challenge before yourself: transitioning from darkness to light. But the ingredients are already there. It could be glorious. If you don't mind a suggestion, the "light" section is already blossoming at 1:30 --- maybe dwell a bit longer on the opening, then break into light a little more gradually. This kind of mood change might have more impact with a bit more patience in the development. You're absolutely right I had actually shortened the gloomy intro but then thought maybe I changed mood too quickly. I'll definitely stretch it and build more slowly. wow neil i think you have an excellent start here on this experiment. i agree you could really draw this out quite a bit more. lengthen and develop that beautiful, deep somber opening. it's very majestic, great strings. i really love the movement into the light. the horn call is great and the sweet flute rising up out of the ashes. this second half could really be drawn out as well, built up slowly into a glorious climax. maybe wait a little longer to bring the tubular bells and cymbals in, let things build a little more. this is a beautiful composition and i really hope you continue to develop it.
