Lyrics
Things I Love

I love the way that you listen to me
When I sing you a song from my heart.
I love the way that you close your eyes,
Intent on the words I am singing.
It’s a wonder tome, love,
That you’re sitting beside me.
I love that you’re here with me.

I love the smile on your face in the morning.
I love when you’re looking at me.
I love to hear you when you call my name.
I love when you reach out to me, love.
I can hardly believe
That you wanted me, love,
But I’m so glad that it’s true.

I love when you touch me.
It makes me feel grand.
It’s not something I looked for, or planned.
I love the way you are gentle with me.
You took my heart, set it free.

I love the feeling when you’re by my side.
I’m filled with a love I can’t hide.
I love to see you when ev’ry day is through:
It’s like suddenly the day becomes new.
I’m amazed when you call me.
You always enthrall me.
Happy is all I can be.

I love when you listen
To my ev’ry word
Even though sometimes my thoughts are obscure.
I love how you always know my heart.
I love that we’ll never part.

You're a singer, too?
I've always appreciated your keyboard compositions, and this song with your voice adds another dimension to your music that is wonderful. This is very unabashed and free sounding. I love the confidence in your voice. Lyrics are very nice.

Paul, these love songs are...
Simply wonderful. To know that love like this exists brings hope. The piano playing is as usual, gorgeous, and the instrumentation is perfect.

Can we see a pix of you two together? :-)

Another brilliant song Paul
Great vocal and a wonderful accompaniment. Love the Piano, and the string section and Flute are perfect for the mood of this song.

Bravo Maestro

Sweet and Simple
Well sung! Love the melody and the 3/4 time. Quiet backing "orchestra" supports you voice pleasantly.

Take Care

This has...
...some of that Lerner and Lowe romantic interlude vibe... "If Ever I Would Leave You"... or perhaps, "On The Street Where You Live"... A break from the 'drama' of the main action, a moment in which a character lets down his guard and spills his heart...

I can smoke this.
Forgive me for relating personally but I do, to you as a songwriter. You've struck a chord in me that goes back many years. I've been such a joker, so jaded for so many years, I thought my sensitivity had grown calcified around my heart. Then I finally hooked up my turntable and have been playing everything from 60s orchestral pop to "sing along with" Mitch Miller to all the 60s and 70s rock and pop I grew up smoking.

Things I Love
Paul,

A very sweet song in a theatrical mode (could almost hear something like this in "Phantom". The orchestration behind your melody was spot on, and a great compliment to the melody and lyrics. Very nice vocal work.

Very
personal emotions wrapped up here in this song Paul I feel .....and this is the best vocal I've heard from you .... you sound more English than me in your pronunciation LOL. This is another lovely song that you should set aside to include in that Musical we've mentioned. Just such a lovely performance Paul, regards M

Did you say...
...that you've written musicals? This would be a very sweet song in a blue green spotlight on a darkened stage, alone and singing to your love who's away...

Things I Love
Paul, I can't get over what a great singer you are, on top of being an extraordinary pianist, composer and orchestrator. This is just beautiful, a real joy to listen to - many many thanks!

another beauty
what i love most about these is that you keep the orchestration and accompaniment sweet and unassuming, never overpowering the beauty of the lyrics and your vocals. but the accompaniment is also extremely beautiful and very well composed. all together it makes a very lovely package.
