Description:
No vocal on this one - I did this while I was waiting for my iMic to arrive, without which I couldn't plug anything in. So yes, it's another Spot the Loop contest!

Hardware:
Mac G5. That's it.

I like your creative use of cyclical analog and digital
samples. And I like your bio. Interesting story how
GarageBand literally fell through your roof and into your
lap.

This works. &mdash 01/11/05 - 05:44:04 AM
Yes, God certainly moves in mysterious ways! The ceiling collapse
seemed like a disaster at the time, but without it I wouldn't be doing any
of this. MacJams is such an important part of my life now, and it all came
out of that one nasty event.

Incidentally, my old Mac still worked after having half a ton of rubble
dumped on it. I asked the insurance people just to give it a good clean,
but they didn't have any engineers who knew about Macs so they
thought it would be easier to give me a new one!

Not bad &mdash 12/09/04 - 08:26:37 PM
You lost me about 2/3 of the way through... but it's a fun
mix!

Loops spotted &mdash 01/06/05 - 03:39:42 PM
I really liked the textures you created with this piece.
Though it all got a little comlicated towards the midde. I
was looking for a little more continuit through the pices,
more of a verse chours feel. Nice to have another female
on board!

Nice loop song &mdash 01/09/05 - 11:52:23 AM
This is a great example of an all loop song. I actually have
difficulty getting loops alone to sound like anything this
interesting. I noticed a number of people mention
"getting lost" near the middle of this piece, but I actually
like the acoustic sounds in the center -- nice contrast to
an otherwise electronic mix. I look forward to hearing
your stuff when you get that iMic hooked up!

Nice loop song &mdash 01/11/05 - 06:05:20 AM
Thanks Admin, nice of you to drop by. I'm glad you like the combination
of acoustics and electronics in the middle. It's not an obvious
combination, but that was kind of the point really. This was the first
thing I did in Garageband, and took three hours including learning the
software from scratch.

I have another little something ready to upload when the submissions
come back online.

Loopy! &mdash 01/22/05 - 04:19:05 PM
I thought that I'd commented on this already but
obviously not…it's one of the best loop-based tracks
I've heard on Macjams. Hoorah! I think it works all the
way through. The 'complicated' bit in the middle
works fine for me.

Great &mdash 01/23/05 - 04:17:49 PM
Before I heard this song I usually haven't liked theese
industrial sounds. But the way you put them it really neet.
It's high artistery! Thanks!

6-7-6-6 &mdash 01/24/05 - 05:24:37 PM
All in all, an entertaining piece. The piano got a bit
tiresome at times. Might want to think about that. I was
little puzzled by a discordant harpsicordish thing toward
the end. Nevertheless, good fun. Keep it up!

I enjoyed this... &mdash 05/20/05 - 03:50:08 AM
...a pleasant ride thru loop land, enough variation to sustain
it to the end. Nice to see how someone with folk sensibilities
approached electronica. Boffo.

Very good for a early attempt,

some nice transitions there!

" So yes, it's another Spot the Loop contest!" &mdash 08/23/05 - 03:52:06 AM
There`s no need to feel less a musician for using only
loops.

At one day in time somebody learned to whistle, only with
his, or her, mouth. He/she inspired people so much, that
they also wanted to whistle. But not everybody could do it.
So one guy, or girl, made himself a whistle out of wood.
Now he could whistle too. In the beginning everybody was
saying;
"No no! That`s not fair. That way everbody can whistle."
But in time they found out, that even though it was a tool
to make whistling easy for everybody, you also need
creativity to use this tool well.

Just like you did. Lovely piece of music you made there!

Thanks Ben, glad you like it. Normally I do play instruments but I made
this one while I was very new to GarageBand and didn't know how to plug
the real instruments in!

I like this tune & I like you cat. &mdash 09/21/05 - 12:43:33 AM
I'm playing catch-up right now. I've starting from your
oldest track & working to the newest.

Thanks very much, Dwayne! Sadly the cat is no longer with us (she was
18 when the picture was taken) but she was a great character - with
some serious attitude. I've been admiring your cat too!
