Rattly Old Guitar Blues

Get Flash to see this player.

Description
It's a rattly old guitar playing some finger picked blues, a straight up improv based on the good old G C D (and minors and 7ths etc) thereof. Just some unplugged fun ..

more blues, even...
Must be in the air, all these blues skies... nicely played, crisp and clear, I liked being able to hear every rasp and wheeze of the guitar... just wondering how you played a pencil sketch though? Nice photo of the beast in question. :-) Perfect kind of instrument for this stuff... cool!
ttfn,

The trick
is to sketch yourself next to the sketch of the guitar...stop this madness. Thanks, glad you liked the 'reality' of it.I have discovered that as I an mostly crap at p-roduction that I would have a go at doing it as is ,so to speak.....it's much more fun for me and less blood pressure increasing!!

I dunno
what the rattle is I cannot find it but it may be the frets or strings in middle area of neck. Yeah there are a few bum notes ,but there are more good ones :0)

That's some nice clatter you've got going there Chris. And playing for the sheer joy of playing. You sound very chilled out and relaxed into the groove here ... you been toking that didgeridoo again?

Love that rattly old guitar
My good friend Michael gets that sound by attaching alligator clips to his strings...he also used to roll up match book covers and slide them under the strings to give things a nice thud, this is right there...I've sure got the blues this morning.

rattle action
gives this a personality and authenticity all of it's own

doesn't detract from the fine selection of progression or the skill IT'S! played with

you are too kind, however thanks for the compliment...I enjoyed the simplicity of just one instrument and not straining myself to make it sound like a £ sorry $64,000 mixin desk product 80)

Thanks
for the listen and comment,I know that you are a fan of acoustic fingerstyle and feel this is praise indeed from your goodly talented self, srsly.
Tho' listening again I feel that it starts to leave the blues a bit behind and get a bit swingy ,but what the hell eh?

Nice one
I shall take full credit for actually getting you to dig your ovation out of your cupboard and breathing some life back into it. Stored away behind the bookshelves the wood has aged and taken on a unique tonal quality and evoking a vision of a moonshine soaked old bugger not unlike yourself passing the evening with his hound dog. well in your csse a cat.
The upshot is the track sound great mate.

Sorry I'm late Chris!
Niiiice...For some reason I expected the Rev Gary Davis to begin singing!

Love that "ratty" sound man. A real "tin pan alley" feel throughout.

Well played my friend!

Take care!

So natural
and easy, Chris. I really enjoyed this, buzzing strings and all. The riffs just seem to flow out of your fingers effortlessly. This sounds like a classic blues 78 LP that was discovered in the attic. You have the soul of a true bluesman. I enjoyed the art, too!
