Description:
I used to very shy. Now I have no reason to be. And I want my friends and boyfriend to open up more. Basically I'm sick of always doing the talking, I want them to start a conversation for once. Yeah, I don't know why I wrote a song about this. It was bugging me lately. And if you haven't noticed yet the song topic is usually what's going on in my life recently. Enjoy :) P.S. This song is a little bit jazzier than usual. Or maybe not. Tell me what genre suits it best. I'm not sure if it's pop?

Lyrics:
VERSE 1
I see you standing there
And I have to stare
Cause you make me feel
You make me feel so good
Come over here and talk to me

CHORUS
Got something to say
Then Say it When I am here
Just let me know
What you’re thinking
Just let it show
Oh baby come here and talk to me
Talk to me!

VERSE 2
You know I’ll listen to every word
Say something and you shall be heard
I’m doing all the talking
It’s time to take your turn
Ohhh come here and talk to me yeah

CHORUS
Got something to say
Then Say it When I am here
Just let me know
What you’re thinking
Just let it show
Oh baby come here and talk to me
Talk to me!

BRIDGE
Oh Yeah…..
I want to see inside
Let it out don’t hide
What you think inside
Just don’t be so shy

Love should open doors
And I want to walk through yours

Got something to say
Then Say it When I am here
Just let me know
What you’re thinking
Just let it show
Oh baby come here and talk to me
Talk to me!

flavored to me. Intro even has a pinch of gospel. Love the breakdown and horns. Drums sound a touch too machined. Could prolly use a little more backing vocals. Some doowahs or something. Definately showing some versatility with the vocal chops. Thanks for sharing. 4 x 9

nice r&b feel. you have a great voice, would love to hear you live. lots of distortion on the track though that takes away from your voice. maybe you just mix it too hot?

I don't know if you play piano and sing at the same time
but if you do that real talent indeed.

Thanks

Minor nits apart.... &mdash 02/03/05 - 02:20:23 PM
....this is a great song, well performed.

Nit the first: you're using drum loops, right? If the drum
has a bar silence, there is usually a hit on beat one. In a
couple of places your drum does something on beat 4,
following by a deafening silence on beat 1. That really
sounds like you're throwing a switch.

Nit the second: experiment around with reverbs and such
on your vocals. They sound like they're in a different
space from the rest of the instruments.

But in general, this is very good stuff.

Yes. About reverb, there is a real nice little (and free, nay, nagware)
component out there called Ambience (click here). Its much like the
fancy AUMatrixReverb that's built-in to GB, except its got a lot of great
presets. Make sure you download the AU version.

I've heard the horn loop used alot before, but never as tastefully as in this
piece.

I think the 2nd drum loop you use is too loud (covers the vox--criminal!)

Excellent work overall. Arranging is great. Keep it up!

pounding it out &mdash 05/09/05 - 01:04:08 PM
You really cut loose on this one and bleted it out. I guess you arent kidding when you have something to say. Has the feel to it that it could be in a movie or a musical when the characters belt into song. good stuff.
