Description
This mix transcends the virtual boundaries of genre. What I mean by this is that I used Miroslav Philharmonic for some of the sounds in this, I also used a classical music theme for the base soundscape, so does this mean that the mix is Classical Ambient, or Symphonic Ambient, or Experimental Classical, or Experimental?? I personally think 'all of the above' and that's why to me the splitting of hairs (as in sub-genre classification) makes me want to go to sleep.

The theme is based on the comments in my last upload, where a couple of thoughts were about 'Celestial/cosmic Phenomena' and so I took this as a springboard to come up with something fitting for the term. This is my first mix with that in mind.

There is tedium in the mix, but it moves into clearly classical ambient textures, but then seems to move back. There are around 17 minutes of this, so be prepared.

As always, your thoughts would be appreciated, in any way.

Hi Daniel........
I appreciate your thoughts Daniel. I'm working on stuff for albums and other stuff, so I am still busy but in a quiet way, but something must have changed within me, as I have been putting aside more and more mixes these last couple of weeks, instead of moving forward with them to a completion, so things are taking longer to process.

This piece was a choice between the classical genre or more ambient and ambient won. The next mix may not. I've always been drawn to classical and it's tap, tap, tapping on my brain to be heard again.

I'm also working on a video project, where I can go around Sheffield, taking video sequences and then putting music to them, so show folks who've never been here how it is. There will be a Blog, called 'Sheffield, My Sheffield', that I will use to showcase these pieces. One day......

Take care.

Paul

You really grab my ears and don't let go
Whether classical or ambient or clambient, this is pure Reinholt and hence is a wonderful space to listen and wonder at the awe of what imagination can bring forth.

Peace,
Doug

Hi Doug.....
As always, thank you for your kind words. As long as there's music within the mix that you can hear it doesn't matter what type of music it is and the fact that you imagine some setting whilst listening is good enough labelling for me.

Take care.

Paul

I enjoy creating music using computers and 'synthesized' as opposed to 'real' instruments. I have no problem using samples/loops in my music. Everyone does this every time they work with a track. I don't fit in any box and thoroughly enjoy working ou... [see more]
