Description

Imagine if you will the birth of the Cosmos. The first ten seconds of that momentous event. Now imagine that this soundscape is a slow motion (or expanded) journey through all that was going on in that first ten seconds of All-That-Is.

The energy that must have been released was unimaginable, but it happened. Shock and awe have nothing in meaning near enough to capture in words what was going on way back then.

Hopefully this 'Scape will take you that bit closer to the beginning of Time.

I am always interested in your thoughts on these 'Scapes of mine.

The beginning...
...the THEME, Paul, is a new one for you. You're usually into the future...
THIS soundscape is just AWESOME and AWE-INSPIRING. The slo-mo idea just captures my imagination in the most fantastic of ways. I can imagine the first 15 minutes of a full-length movie about the cosmos that begins with a black screen suddenly erupting from a pin point into the things you have imagined in your music. You have such a gift of imagination, and imagining things that have not yet been "realized" in music or the visual arts. Bravo on this most-satisfying and provocative composition. Beautiful.

Hi Paul........
I thought myself that this piece was a 'bigger' number than others, so I thought what could be a big celestial event to depict and the birth of everything came to mind. I then aimed the textures, etc. to more bring the imagination in this direction (hopefully listeners would have read the description) so I just layered walls of sound and hoped for the best.

I'm glad you 'got my idea'. Thanks for the great thoughts. They give me encouragement to carry on with this sort of soundscape.

In the beginning
Yessir. An excellent choice of theme. The most mysterious celestial phenomenon since time began. And that's saying something. This has a BIG sound, which it must, even though the early universe was relatively compact. I like the drone that pervades the piece. And ten minutes of a drone synth ... classic space ambient ... takes courage and skill to pull off. And you've managed that most spectacularly. Tip o' the hat to you. Magnificent. The poor attendance at your showings suggests a dearth of ambient music fans at MJ. Pity. You deserve a much wider audience. This is pro grade stuff.

Hi Duane.......
I thought my description may attract your attention!! I tried to depict this most awesome of events. In fact THE event of all time. I had hoped the strength and depth of my mix brought the imagination into play and 'put the listener in the area of this beginning'.

My depiction of these ultra-compressed first few seconds was through the depth and breadth of the back drop. I hoped that it would work.

The lack of interest in my pieces does sometimes discourage me but I would be making these mixes anyway, so why not share them with those few people who are that bit more interested. That's fine with me.

I haven't forgotten about the document, so it will be uploaded for you to take a look at in the next day or two.

Another great cosmic piece
from you Paul! I wonder, though, if cosmos was born "in time". Isn't time something that started when galaxies and planets and stuff began to rotate in a fairly regular way? The actual BANG must really have gone off before time or in "no time";-) In "seconds" or in a million years? Not that it matters.. But that's what I was thinking while listening to this. Whichever, this is pro ambient stuff... Thanks for sharing!
