Description
This is a sad and true story of one of the many ladies from my past. Valentine was beautiful but had lots of problems. I knew what she was from the start and from where she came, but she was sexy and dangerous…. and I found it very alluring. It was the classic old story; I was going to be the one to change her; make her respectable. I never even came close. When I found out that her father was her pimp, I almost killed him. I through her out and never saw her again. I received a letter from her and her father not long after, that was the saddest thing I ever read. I present to you a new composition, “Valentine”. Listen closely to Krille’s guitar work on this. There is pain flying off his strings. Till this day…there is pain in my soul when I think of her. Thank you for listening.

Lyrics
Valentine

By ClayPotts

My eyes started burning as their words jumped from the page
All the love I had been feelin, was now consumed by hate
I was a fool this time.... Valentine

She was the reason all my friends abandoned me
So charmingly appealin', she was a hotbed of intrigue
Casting pearls before swine...Valentine

We had a rocky beginning; there were rumors that I heard
It took a lot of convincing, and I remember her every word
We had a helluva time...Valentine

Late night conversations, feathered whispers on her hair
Tingling sweet sensations, there was music in the air
Come rain or shine...Valentine

Break

She had the key to my apartment, and would come and go as she pleased
We planned a fancy future custom tailored to our needs
I thanked the lord she was mine...Valentine

I entertain in nightclubs, and she never missed my show
My girl looked like a movie star, decked out from head to toe
Turned every head every time...Valentine

Each time he phoned her I wondered, why her father would make her cry
He'd talk to her for hours, and she would sob when they said goodbye
Could I have lost my mind....Valentine

So my eyes continue burning, simple things are hard to see
I was their fool in the letter but they haven't heard the last of me
Too many lies told too many times...Valentine

So good
Classic blues. Again, forward going vocals, wild guitar, and a sad story.
No need for anything else.
