Description
imagine a film about the last shuttle mission to upgrade the Hubble Space Telescope.

at the end of the film there is a seemingly endless list of thousands of names of all the individuals that contributed to the film and the project.

there's the list, white letters with a drop shadow, scrolling over on an amazing still of a starscape.

think about all those people. their dreams, their families, their lives. think about all the babies born during the project. think about the people that died during the project.

scrolling by.

...always appreciate your tone poems. Long ideas are challenging for ADHD afflicted people, ear candy makes it easier. Thanks for making these wonderful posts. This sounds like you had a lot of fun making it....

yes, i did have fun doing this one!

i built this by embellishing a few short musical ideas. so really, it's not that long of an idea, just a long unravelling of the idea. if you know what i mean

thank you

Im always
Impressed by people who orchestrate with GB or logic ....I always wonder what if anything Mozart or Beethoven would have done with them anyway ....this is a very cool piece man ! Very delicate and brought thoughts of Kubric to my mind :)

i too have wondered what composers from long ago would think about modern computer technology. would they simply freak out, or quickly adapt and create amazing music?

i guess some of this song might be about the changing multiple problems the astronauts faced while working on Hubble.

thanks

The Genre
is pot on that's for sure, great orchestration you've got going on...... totally' in tune' (pardon the pun) with your description above. Most enjoyable.... The wavering violin(?) almost throughout makes it sound very original too..... wonderful stuff, regards M

Pot on! Maurice is right.
A little smoking would give exactly the out of body experience to go along with this quite nice heroic anthem. Or it was a typo. This is epic. Great job, Smokey. Thank you.

lots of times, the music precedes the assignment to a specific emotional description or setting. as happened here.

writing music for a predetermined mood is much harder for me

thanks

Do you do a song a day challenge?
Hard to keep up. The music you create is never the same, Kind of like opening a present. This is interesting to say the least. And I have no idea what all the tools are that you are using, that makes it even better. Enjoyable, Thank you.
