Description
This is a mix from an 'Alien Sunrise' set. An ongoing exploration of worlds and their inhabitants, from an imaginary point of view (of course). It is one of an occasional series that I upload from time to time.

Biota - In a nutshell a planetary biosphere, encompassing EVERYTHING phenomenal, see the Wikipedia entries.

As always I appreciate your thoughts on these excursions of the imagination.

Hi Kenta......
It's good that my music helps you to relax. I hope that I can do many more pieces that will enable listeners to chill a little bit in the middle of their day.

Take care.

I am reminded of...
...the story of creation that is part of the Hopi Indian tradition. Part of that story speaks of the "song of the universe" and the "harmony" among elements. I don't know why I hadn't thought of that before this. But I was wondering if the REAL song of the universe would sound as sort-of mechanical as your "Biota" or if there might be a melody growing out of these wonderful sounds you are creating. I guess I am hearing a lot of metal on metal in this particular number that has the potential to take me somewhere magnificent, but I'm a bit swallowed up by the swirl around me. Well, just thoughts to ponder... As usual, you have created something truly sui generis that is satisfying, intriguing, and thought-provoking.
Peace.

Hi Paul....
The thought that you paint are giving me yet more ideas, and the Hopi Indian traditional creation story is now on my list of things to investigate.

The metalic elements are my 'Ambient percussion' and I just love to have these in and amongst my soundscapes. I tend to search these sounds out as I'm mixing, to add that bit of 'Sparkle' to any mix.

There will be more 'Trips to Imagined Lands', etc. coming over the next little while, hopefully with more classical elements to try and ground some of the mixes more in reality, if that is possible with what I currently produce.

Take care.

Full of richness
Paul,

Textures are rich with many different layers; undulating various live sounds of organisms. You can't help but be in a scene somewhere from another world or dimension. Very imaginative. Thanks for this piece.

Hi Patrick.....
I do these scenes from other worlds occasionally and this is a natural progression from the others. The trigger for this piece was the Wikipedia and the entry on 'Biota'. I couldn't resist putting something together.

Take care.

love the sense of space in this one (literal not outer). almost like overhearing sounds while outside at night, or memories flooding through the mind. great stuff Paul.

Hi Michael.......
Part of my mind was remembering the nights I walked around Sana'a, with nothing really stirring except me and the occasional wild dog. It was a very surreal and yet magical time.

I'm glad the mix was evocative for you.

Take care.

Some ambience. . .
Feels like the primeval chaos - in a gentle way
out of which, as paul f. hints at
order, structure or harmony
could, would - should ?
finally emerge.

Well done.
Thanks !

Hi Boundless......
There is structure in the piece. This underpins the rest, the rest just being whatever seemingly random things happen in any random place on any random world, with promontaries or edges of landmasses being part of my focus.

Hopefully other mixes, with other imaginary journey's will follow on from this soundscape.

Take care.

Hi Daniel........
I love the reverb side of Ambient, so I may occasionally indulge myself with my favourite Reverb Effect, Ambience, that I've used for at least two years. This mix of course had this treatment, to try and give a spread to the width.

The ideas, for mixes, just keep filling my mind, so expect some more detours from normality.

Take care.

Hi Davisamerica......
I've a few more ideas spinning around in my brain, so there could be some others on their way. A bit of this, a bit of that, etc., etc..

We'll see what comes out of the melting pot next.

Take care.

Paul
