Description
Live recording on 6/7/09 of the Redlands Community School of Music and the Arts Youth Symphony, Karen Palmer Music Director/Conductor and featuring soloist Laura Evans (age 14). Recording was made using a camcorder with audio extracted and processed through garageband, so quality is not great but the performance was awesome! Thank you for listening.

Live symphonic treat
The Youth Symphony is sounding pretty good! Excellent attack while pulling long threads. I assume Laura is the violin soloist. Amazing work for her age. Bravo.

Thanks....
Not sure what MJ did, but it seems the download is a double espresso raised a step or two!! The actual performance was a bit slower paced and truly in the key of A. The Redlands Youth Symphony is quite a collection of talented young musicians, assuring us a future of fine classical music.

Ahhhh...
...your daughter! I was wondering how in the world you were going to pull this off on the guitar! LOL.

She's wonderful. You must be a proud papa...please pass on my compliments. Besides everything else (feeling, time, arpeggios, scales, etc), she handles the octaves very well. It's a tough piece. Wieniawski is a bear: fine blend of virtuosic showcase and musicality.

Wow...14...violin's carrying nicely over the orchestra...got a nice one? Expensive little boxes...

Reall a wonderful performance
you must be very proud. The sound is great too - but you mentioned the pitch and tempo thing. It may be that the video was recording at 48kHz and GB/iTunes work at 41.1kHZ. I've run into this issue myself.

Kudos to Karen and Laura
and the other talented members of the young orchestra. Thank you for taking the time to process this so we could hear it. Laura's violin sounds wonderful. You must be very proud of her. How old was she when she began playing? Amazing skill here.

Thank you all for the nice comments
I will pass them all onto Laura. Glad you enjoyed it. Laura is a third generation violinist with her maternal grandmother providing the patient instruction. Thanks also to Bud regarding the frequency difference. An audio digital recorder is probably the way to go.

I'm just an amateur who thankfully has a day job, but I do enjoy the sound and feel of the classical guitar. I also enjoy the original eclectic collection of music found on MacJams and the support and encouragement of jammers. Most of my submission... [see more]
