Description

Revision, corrected pitchy vocals in chorus and some notes in the vibes solo. Also brought the bongos closer to centre.
Have had Garageband for about a month and this is my first completed tune. This has been as much a learning process as a creative one. Still lots to learn about DAWs. I play bass and guitar, the rest is loops and samples. Need a drum program and a midi keyboard, this moving notes around on the screen sucks but it is teaching me lots. The words and vocal melody are inconsequential since the sample Fynn only responds to razor blades (digital editing), wish I could sing. This experience might make me brave enough to try.

It Might be the vibes
Thanks for the listen Terraplane. That point in the song gets a bit crowded with rhodes and vibraphone, very similar tonality. The end of the vibes solo gets muddy because of this and increasing the velocity doesn't seem to help. Tried cleaning it up by cutting the reverb, helped a bit but not enough. Haven't done any auto leveling or mastering yet but when I get all the timing and pitch problems fixed I will try mastering. That might smooth out the track and give each instrument a space.

This song almost pins the cheese meter for me and at first was going to discard it. I changed my mind when I decided to give in to my Love Boat/Lounge/Muzac tendencies and go with it. Trying to make it as sweet, smooth and edgeless as possible without making myself laugh or puke.

Nice first cut...
watch those razor blades though... sounds great now, you're "in like Fynn!" I don't hear the Frankenstein seams, so you are very good at re-pitching and splicing. The music bed is jazzy and enjoyable... excellent work melting all those loops together... and the bass-line and guitar work are a delight, as I mentioned in the prior defunct (de-funked?) music version. Welcome, again!
