Description
The name of the trio I sing with on the weekends is "Three Husbands on the Loose" (3husbands.com) and this I wrote as kind of a theme song. It's a total fun song. In reality, our band should be called "Three Husbands on the Leash" 'cause our wives are always with us. Betweeen the three of us, we enjoy nearly 100 years of marriage. Wow. Anyhow - I hope you tap yer foot to this one!

Lyrics
Once again, (once again) I’m on the loose
Once again, (once again) I’ve slipped the noose
When I’m home, we’ll call a truce
‘Til next time… I’m on the loose

I’ve escaped that ball and chain
And I’m on the road again
And the story’s still the same
I’ll be back... (I’ll be back, I’ll be back)
And I’ll hang my head in shame.

CHORUS

I pretend I have a plan
And I go when e’re I can
But I am a captive man
I’ll be back… (I’ll be back, I’ll be back)
I’ll be back where I began

CHORUS

Oh my leash ain’t very long
It’s a love with ties so strong
But I can sing my song
I’ll be back… (I’ll be b

nice pickin'
Nice harmonies, ensemble sound. Great to hear another bluegrass picker on this site. I haven't posted anything in that genre, but I do play in a bluegrass style band. Boy, I can relate to the theme of your song. My wife is often left a "pickin' widow" as I go off to gigs and festivals. Hope to hear more from you. Nice post!

Just a folk singer. Well - mostly a folk singer, but I like to try just about every style a middle-class white guy from Mid-Michigan can sincerely try. Be sure to check out my "band" — I used to play R&R with these guys back in the 70s, but now we'... [see more]
