I'm diggin' it &mdash 12/10/04 - 07:15:41 PM
I love your fusion and orchestration. The mixing is great and your guitar playing kicks ass. Nice use of that horn loop!

Excellent guitar playing. Might just be me but I thought
the timing was a little off a few times in the beginning but,
over all, stunning moves.

Cool arrangement but it's not rock. Jcharney called it
fusion and that sounds about right. It seemed a bit
confused on that, actually. Distortion guitar and horns
make an interesting contrast but what's it saying. I rated
it what I did as I believe you accomplished what you set
out to do. I'm just not sure what it is.

Nice backing drum track too.

Identity Crisis? &mdash 12/11/04 - 06:41:15 AM
This songs has a hodgepodge of musical styles. I don't
know if it is Rock, R&B, Blues, Soul or avante guard.
Obviously you can play anything you want. :-)

You have some unbelievable licks and I love the tone
you are getting with that guitar. 33 tracks of pure power.
The drums rock.

Welcome to MJ. I wanna hear more.

Sounds Great &mdash 12/11/04 - 06:56:43 AM
Not a bad start to come in at the top of the weekly picks.
Guitar sounds great, how was it recorded?

Sounds Great &mdash 12/13/04 - 04:30:04 PM
Thanks a bunch. I used an old Boss compression/sustainer, a Jackson
Custom Dinky w/Floyd Rose and plugged into an eMac 700mhz using a
Monster 1/4 to 1/8th inch adaptor. Duplicated the lead tracks and panned
one with only a little effect at 11 o'clock and panned the other one at 5
o'clock with a ton of effect and the volume level lower. I put the gain on the
11 oclock and pulled it way down on the 5 oclock track. Listen to the first
Van Halen album and mess with the panning on Eddie's solos and you'll hear
the same type of thing. Also, on Eruption, I think I can also hear a third track
that is really clean.

sometimes less is more &mdash 12/11/04 - 06:35:08 PM
actually, most of the time, less is more. I think you have
too many things going on here, and it would be a better
piece if you did some pruning of those "33 tracks". Great
guitar playing, but lots of things are taking away from it at
the moment.
cheers,
D.

Superb fresh guitar over leftovers &mdash 12/13/04 - 09:48:21 AM
Great playing, but an identity crisis going on in the
accompaniment tracks. Such superb playing over some of
the most over-used loops creates truly an unusual
experience. Certainly makes those old loops seem more
relevant. But I agree with the above comments. Let your
playing shine with a backing that it deserves. Again, great
playing.

Great Stuff! &mdash 12/17/04 - 10:01:50 PM
You put a lot of stuff in there. I lot of work or should I say
labor of love.

Joe Satriani meets Toto meets Van Halen.

Lotsa stuff going on.

Your keeping with the melody at the end to, nice.
Hope I can help you climb higher with the rating I am
going to give you!!
