Day Into Night (w/ Rebsie & MickD)

Description
Another track from the DreamHaus Project. Features the excellent production work of Mark Deskin (AKA MickD) and another vocal duet from Rebsie and myself. This song is a philosophical and existential reaction to the reoccurring underwater dreams that I have. I hope you like it.

Lyrics
Day Into Night
(Lyrics by Lunatrick)

It's all the same
At the ends of the world
Polar dreams
In Vanity Swirls

Day into night
Night into day
Fade in the light
Feeling my way

To each his own
In the old greying sea
Stars close their eyes
In their black revery
Darkness....

Crystal zones
My thinly webbed eyes
The songs of old crones
Become etherized
Brittle the bones
That carry these sighs

Day into night
Night into Day
Fade in the light
Feeling my way

Better the dream
That slips through the tide
The space in between
Where no-one can hide

Day into night
Night into day
Fade in the light
Feeling my way

Day into night

Day Into Night
The "Fearsome Threesome" do it again - very thoughtful feeling tune. Love the vocal work from the "Dynamic Duo", but wow - the three of you have terrific chemistry together also. wonderful lyrical passages as usual from Daniel, and a GREAT song and production thereof!

Great song.
Felt like a sort of Grace Jones track.
The edgy guitar adds a cool contrast to the lush smoothness of the whole thing

Reoccurring underwater dreams
That's interesting - my reoccurring dreams are about theme parks. But that's another story. This represents a winning combination of the various elements that make it up. I get the Grace Jones reference made by kingbee actually, which proves to be a very interesting and unexpected component. And I particularly like that short intrumental section at the end. Good work!

Really solid number
excellent production, lyrics and vox - and then that guitar takes it to another place. Very cool. Did you see Hertzog's doc about Antarctica - Encounters at the End of the World? This brought it to mind. Took me a while to get here - but it was well worth it.

Arranged...
I can hear this number arranged in about 1000 ways. This is beautifully arranged/conceived around a couple of chords. THAT kind of simplicity lends itself so well to this dark lyric and allows the listener to focus on the text while letting the arrangement seep into one's bones and do its clever work. The production values in the mix seem just about perfect to my ears...I did think the last note really abruptly cut off and thought a gentle fade might have more of the sense of the refrain of the lyric. ... Super collab.
Peace.

Beautiful vibe...
A big wry smile crossed my face at the entrance of "Darkness..." and the low strings. A really well-balanced arrangement and original mixture of instruments. Ohhh, wow! I loved the ending. It's like waking up from a dream suddenly. Here are qualms: I think the soundscape became a bit cluttered with the guitar and piano so close together in frequency. The guitar may have been a tad too squeaky as well. This wouldn't be bothersome enough to keep me from listening on repeat for awhile, but it's noticeable.

A chorus to wait for again and again
What can I add that hasn't been said before. I just stumbled across this track, and it reminded me that you can't beat a great chorus ... its contrast with the verse ... plus a neat guitar outro. Keep it comin'!

Clean and refreshing
Seems like reverb is such a tricky effect that can get out of hand so easily, yet it works so well with this song. Love the laid back groove. The vocals and lyrics give off a Bowie type of vibe and the sweet guitar riffing gives the whole song a cool gritty edge. But the watery piano and strings somehow tie everything together. Only criticism is that the mix does seem a little hot at times, otherwise top notch music.
