Description

I wrote this song about 11 years ago. Whoa. Just one of those sad songs to slow dance to at the sock hop. Vocals are rough stuff, but I didn't want to take the time to redo them. That's quality you can count on. Enjoy!

Oh man! So good. True to your "nom de macjams", it sounds a bit like the smart beatle in his retro mode.
I don't hear the problems with the vocals... they sound really good to me.
Likewise, guitar sounds are a particularly tasty treat.
harmonies, lyrics also great. "you mean not what you say" ... that sounds kinda classic but I haven't heard it before...

	Oh! Darling. I usually list Oh, Darling as my favorite Beatle song. That or "I've Just Seen a Face". Odd, considering John's my favorite Beatle. 	Thanks, Tobin. I was considering not panning the mix at all and putting on even more reverb. I love those old records drowning in reverb because they were recorded in a gym somewhere. i'm a sucker for these type of songs, and this is a really good one; good enough for Grease and Rocky Horror. That chorus is very cool, when you say the word "Time", it's really cool. Love so much of it: the trill on piano after each chorus, the last line of the chorus, the harmonies on "i'm blue over you," just a lot of really nice clever touches in this little gem. great job.

shoot, I have some 11 year old under ware. Bet I have some tunes older than you are.
..... I like the keys on this, and the contrast between the relativly stripped down begining and the more orchestrated ending. nice straight up classic rock and roll. sweet harmonies at the end. Ever hear the valadictorian speech in the movie "say anything" she says "I've seen the future, and all I can say is ,Go Back."

I appreciate the self-deprecation but your vox is always a treat; the guitar and key strikes are dead-on authentic to the old NJ pizza parlor jukeboxes I grew up digging. (Then there's that little piano flourish after the verses, which reminds me of the Beatles' postmodern treatment of the same sub-genre in "Oh Darling." come to think of it there's a very (John) Lennonesque feel to your vox approach and arrangement. Really neat.

As for the "rough stuff" in the lyrics, I can see changing some things to be more personable, i.e., "Yeah, you mean not what you say." can easily be "you don't mean what you say" and so on. But so what? Dig it.
