Description

In the process of making new songs for my band KONTRABEAT to play, this one came along during this weekend. This is just me playing however, and it's a quite trad blues arrangement with a touch of funk. I got a bit eager to finish this one and took a shot at also putting on the keys myself...

I also got a new overdrive stompbox that I ordered directly from Alfonso Hermida (hermidaaudio.com). Been wanting one of those babies for a while... I kind of fell in love immediately:)

	the thoddi sound is constantly evolving :-) always in cool new spaces. Everything just slots in the groove with great synergy. The individual tones on all the instruments compliment each other nicely. The swoosh sound on the rotary speaker (organ) is simply awesome. Is that a soft sound or a sound module? The swoosh is really the sound of a backwards voice and some other samples that I've filtered with all kinds of fx's. But they kind of blended in with the organ sound — so I thought it was cool:)

If you like the sounds I'm thrilled... you sure know your way around those keys. I hope we can do a collab together soon. I'm really enjoying the process of working on songs with you.

I might have another one in the same genre in not to long... If you don't mind, I might knock on your door...:)

Thanks for the kind words on my vocal... I'm not quite confident with singing, and especially in live situations. I think I get to involved in playing and let the vocal part get second priority. In a studio I'm more relaxed, and can of course correct less good parts.

So if you're available, I'm looking for someone to do the lead vocals in my band;)

The shining, solo mind
While full-band recordings may be more definitive, I always like to hear what comes out of the solo mind, and therefore gravitate to tunes like this vs. full non-demo-ish studio postings. I'm an unabashed fan of what you do and how you do it... you always bear repeated listens.

LOVE the instrumental break after the second verse. I'm sort of a Duane-Dicky freak, as Timothy (commenting above me) noted in his "Allmans" reference. But there's also more of a classic "acid blues" (my term) feel here with that funk happening. Congrats on the new O.D> stomper, Thor.
