Zeppy collab

Description
This incomplete track has been kicking around for months. It just came up on shuffle and decided I might as well put it out as is - for anyone to muck with or ignore. Both are fine. It's a bit derivative to say the least - but it was fun.

Thanks to Mikkinylund for taking up the Zeppy collab challenge. Be sure to check out his tune: The Seagull (with Bud)

physical confetti
Cool pounding drums, plus great chord changes and guit. sounds.
Would love to hear some vocals and lead guitar over this - could be a really good song.

You have the flexible pipes for this
from what I've heard. Give it a go - guitar too if you're into it.

kicking around
hey i like those chord progressions. this is made for 5X's bass. i'd like to hear some filthy bud vox over this...for whatever reason i think it would sound like TAD. http://www.myspace.com/tadrocks

nice to hear that you put your own stuff on the playlist btw - i like doing that just to see what tempie sounds like sandwiched between 'real' musicians but i get a pang of narcissistic guilt whenever one comes up.

I'll dig out the GB file
in case someone wants to have go at it. It's in open G tuning.
Sometimes my stuff comes up in shuffle and I forgot I ever did it.

Hi Brooklyn !
Great bed here, Kev. Great oppotunity to practice a bit my Ibanez on top of it, and if, by chance or with the help of the Gods of music, I come up with something cool, I'll email you…

Sounds a bit empty at times
Good sketch, but something is missing. Vocals, especially. Or, maybe it's me that never was much into instrumental songs. However, as is, it does for sure have a nice "Kashmir" type of beat, I love the interaction between bass, drums and the guitar, especially on the second break, at times brilliant. I would suggest taking the song though a second round. In fact, as another suggestion, a fat Hammond would not sound terrible wrong with this... :)

Sweet shades of Bonzo...
This'll be fun to play with and over. Very neat bed of sounds... Sounds like an outtake from Presence... Definitely draws one to want to mess with it...

is there a.....
Robert Plant in the audience?

Kevin, this has a cool latter day zep sound for sure. But a Plant vocal would be the perfect addition.

Jiggly Guitars....
...nice. Love it when the "big guns"come in around 2 mins. ... My "magic flute" ain't gonna work on this number, Bud, but I hope a couple of others will chime in with vocals and whatever will make this cook even more than it already does. It is a very rich soundbed, indeed.
Peace.

Way cool
Bonham kick. Yum. I have a suggestion: See if spitlogic or DJ French Toast or any of our talented spitters at MJ can throw something down. Could be a cool little Paul's Boutique homage. If I could spit, I'd do it... but I can't. It would be a disaster. It would go over like a lead balloon :).

Tom Wounded
Man I can hear Tom singing on this one!

Where is that kid?

Great sounds bud. You have such a powerful and unique drum style. Bass is thumping and your guitar riffs are nice. I like those signature moments when your guitar melodies and bass melodies stray from each other, like a note or two away. Not sure what you call it, but at 3:36 or so it starts, and whenever I hear you do it in other tunes I always think, "Wow, bud is up to something!" I really dig it.

So where are the singers? I still have 2 more singing lessons to go, so I'm nowhere near qualified to handle this one! :^D

Definitely Zeppy...
I also got a strong Jeff Buckley vibe, perhaps moreso than zeppelin in some parts. Derivative is a term that needs to lose its negative connotations, 'cuz I have no problem with the influences on this track. I really dig it. How was this recorded? It has lots of space and the drums sound pretty real, so I thought H2 at first but at the end I wasn't so sure... I dig it, it's downloaded, and when I get done with the busy season at work, who knows??

P.S. I'm a bit of an 'instrumental' music fan, so I actually like this as is, I know some people like vocals on tracks, but they would have to be dang good to do this one justice.

You really should...
...finish this one Kevin. Really fine guitar work over that pounding and insistent drum beat. Great changes in the progression. Nicely mixed too.

I agree with Relic67. This is only a sneak preview I hope!

Be well friend!
