I haven't posted for a while so I figured I'd get this one out there. I was going to remix it but don't really have the time right now. It sounds pretty good as-is though. I've got a few of these harder songs I need to post.

	man on the mountain Nick, this is hot and heavy. i don't know if you could improve the mix. seems pretty damn good to me. the guitars have a excellent crunch and are tight. 	thanks I always love to push that midtone on the bass - gives it an interesting sound. This pushed my vocal comfort zone a little. The guitar sound is my homemade method of an octave pedal. I sold mine a while back. Check out my latest song called Questioning Authority

The thing I am struck with on this tune are the guitars. They are incredibly tight and the tone has this, how should I describe it? Kind of synth-y buzz-saw sound to them. Like a super fast vibration- almost not even amp-like. Anyway. it's very cool and totally fits the song. You might try a little distortion on the vocals actually, to dirty them up a bit. Might be a nice counterpoint to the tight guitars, something a little messy. Just an idea. Killer track as always.

Thanks Phil. Yeah the guitars are a little weird. Each channel is on 2 tracks, one normal and the other dropped an Octave or so. I sold my Octave pedal a while ago when I thought I was done writing songs - how wrong I was. I need to get another one, the sounds I could get were great. This is my attempt at recreating the sound. The vocals could probably use a little distortion - everytime I try to add some to the vocals it comes out sounding a little odd. More practice maybe.

	Distortion I'll have to give the distorted vocals a shot and see how it sounds. I used to add distortion to all my vocals years ago in order to hide the imperfections in my voice. 	calm like a bomb That's funny, that song played on my ipod while shuffling a while back and my wife immediately changed the song (not a Rage fan) - I just said "You can't switch songs, that track is perfection!" 	Rage vibe It's definitely a small rip off from Rage. I was listening to Rage and Clutch at the time I wrote it. Buying Drums on Demand was the best thing I did to propel my songwriting - Drums were always the biggest hold back for me before that. As you know it is just a bit more "thin" than some of your other recent posts, a little more airy. But as other said it's harder to nail it that way and you did a great job. The thinner sound is just a little more aged, like rock from the late 80's or early 90's rather than the late 90's or 00's sound, which is thicker and more compressed. Also I get less deep bass on this one which is more late 80's. Thinking about it like that and it comes out great. Actually kind of reminds me of a little known late 80's bad called Sea Hags.
