Description
This song is exactly the other side of the coin to my last song, so to speak. The other (Everybody Feels) is about the innate goodness in people, while this one is about the rest of 'em whose faces we rarely see, but who rule our everyday lives to some degree. In fact I wrote this as a poem (apart from the last verse) in the 80's in response to a UK government whose policy was to cut the employment figures. I found it again recently and noticed how the words fit perfectly with the way Government departments, MP's and Ministers treat the public and have been acting with greed even now..... so what's new? What's changed? I think and hope Obama just might be the start of a new age of truth and responsibility in Government/s..... hope you like the song and it gets you moving, M

Lyrics
I Am Aware
I am aware, perhaps too much, of the needs and the wants of the world and such,
And yet there’s little I can do, but sympathise with people who are starving, no! Not just for food,
But a little love and a little care.
I am aware, of the ones who dare to preach and rant, as if they care,
All they want is twice their share of wealth and power,
They say it's fair.
These people too are also starved, of real compassion, ‘cause their feelings halved.
Break and ad lib
I am aware of these privileged few, posing as saviours with notions new,
They sit upon their self-made thrones,
Their hearts as yielding as granite stones,
When asked to account for their cold points of view,
Their words are just empty; and their actions few.
Break and ad lib
Rpt 1st verse
I’m calm, to a degree, but I know just what bothers me,
I get fired up, because I’m wired up,
To see what’s goin’ on in this world.
Lots of people being greedy,
Fleecin’ all the poor and needy yeah!. X2
